Any Mariah Carey fans here?

I was wondering if there is any Mariah fans. I have been a big fan of hers since 1990, when she released Vision Of Love.

I'm a fan of the sistah but I'm slowly losing the intrest on her.

I'd love from her t just take time(3 years at least) get herself 2ghether, work a lil' on her vocal chops and do some Grown Folks music this time. Not ballads, not collapo madness,,,just a sophisticated LP that showcase her talent rather than the opposite. Leave DJ Clue, Blaze and JD alone,,,just hook up with a REAL musician and do some music. Stop rambling about yo private sex life and the whole bi-racial saga 2 every goddamn reporter under the sun and only speak about yo music,,,matta o' fact let the music do the talking.

Thats what I want my homegirl to do!

Sounds good!

Funny how when she started out, she was doing more sophisticated adult contemporary music at a young age.

Now that she's grown up, she's acting more like a teen pop star than back then.

I would like to see her come strong and blow everyone away like when she debuted.

I was watching an old tape of "Someday" and yeah, she was sexy yet down to earth and just nice. She sang with such allure yet without so much bling like the industry requires now.

She had to compete with the times now. I think it brought out a sexier, more erotic side of her.

I think Vision Of Love was one of the best debut songs ever. That song along with Graffiti Bridge were my two favs in '90.

Here was a naturally BEAUTIFUL woman, simple, yet she OUT SANG most. It was the music. I think she kicked Madonna's ass and exposed Madonna for the farce she was.

I think she wispers now too much, I want to hear her belt it out again.

(oh and no I think she looks freagin' great in these, not hoochie, not sit hides only so much.)

i'm just the opposite. i'm just becoming a "true" fan. i've always loved her voice and songs but never bought an album until Glitter. she seemed sooo contrived before - but now she seems real, like she's doing it her way for a change. she's surrounded herself with people she loves and trusts and she's in HER zone. i went to the Charmbracelet concert and she seemed really happy and boy can she SING!!! she introduces the band singing. the girl can sing the ABC's and make people listen!!! she's not going away any time soon and the best is yet to come. i do agree however, that she is very whispery on this last album and would love to hear some heart-felt belts more often wink

Im a big fan. And I always will be. I loved her voice in 1990 and I love it now. She was a smoker when she first came out and she wasnt into the whispering thing. I dont think she could do it then. I dont mind the airy-ness in her voice. I know she is a fan of hip hop, but I cant stand all of the rap guest stars on her albums. It's so predictable now.

I think Glitter is a cool album, as I like 80's music like The Time, Prince, Roger, Zapp etc. Jimmy Jam & Lewis also produced some trax's. I think she should focus more on selling her music rather than selling it on sex appeal. Mariah is way better than those other pop singers like Britney, Christina etc. etc. who R sellin' their music on sex appeal alone.

Mariah looks awesome in those pics in Maxim magazine, but she is a talented singer/songwriter/producer and should focus more effort on exploiting these talents, rather than focusing on her looks 2 sell records

Mariah's new CD in my opinion is cool, it has a good selection of guest artists (Jay-Z, Ice Cube, Joe, Kelly Price (I am a big fan of all these artists espically Joe) and has some good songs on it 2.

What do people think of Mariah's cover of Prince's - The Beautiful 1's...I think it is C-O-O-L!

This is exactly how I feel.I consider myself a fan of Mariah, but I don't really care for her recent music.Too many samples, whispery vocals and weak lyrics.Forgettable songs like "Loverboy" and "Heartbreaker" would be better suited for any of the young,no-talent wannabees. She has an amazing voice but she's wasting it on trendy,second-rate material.I would love for her to ditch the rappers and the samples, get some REAL musicians and make a soulful, powerful album that focuses on her STRONG voice (as opposed to her whispery style of singing). The other day,I heard her 1991 hit "Can't Let Go" on the radio, and THAT'S the Mariah Carey that I miss! It's been awhile since she did a song like that.

Vocally She is Gifted but once upon a time I thought maybe the 2nd Coming of Minnie Riperton&Deniece Williams but instead She mainly just makes Fast-Food Tracks.alot of Her Hits are on the Re-Thread tip especially ever first Single She drops.Tommy&Her found a FOrmula&She has continued to stick to it.I wanna like Her More as a Artist but the Growth ain't never come fully for me.I dig Her Re-Mixes better than most of Her Album tracks but again She works twice as Hard than She should have to with that range. She still is a babe.

I think Mariah has been sucessfull are creating her own musical style,As one reporter put it she created a whole new radio format (Irony is now radio won't play her that much)
I think because she is attractive, people can't say she's talented and smart
Her "singles" are very comercial, but it's her album tracks that really standout
like "Vanishing" "Bliss" "Breakdown" and so on
Has anyone heard a new song "Mizza" with Damizza and Mariah? (it's doing the hip hop mix tape round)

Her new material for her new album/soundtrack is more pop/rock/soul, someone descrided it as folk /soul
she has worked with the Matrix's on some songs as well as self producing it
I also agree that Glitter and Butterlfy is her best work

also her official new single "What would you do" with Nate Dogg (from his new album, it's an updated version of IF WE from Glitter minus Ja Rule)
This was one my favourite tracks from Glitter, and glad it's finnaly been released
This is the track that Jlo famously ripped off and re titled "I'm real" with Ja Rule

I'd say yes. I am a fan. And though man people have panned her "Glitter" album..I for one really liked it. Ok..I own the movie as well.. redface My favourite song by her was the b-side of "Always Be My Baby". It's called "Slipping Away".

I like all her songs, but wanted to put together my own compilation of my favourites..this was the result..(made it before the release of "Charmbracelet")

Subtle Invitation was hot, best song on Charmbracelet she did let lose at end of that track
I think she was trying to sound modern and sexy on this album, and held back on the vocal gymnastic
AND VANISHING WAS THE JAM, Her vocals were out of this world
I don't think she could manage that now either, maybe
I didn't think she could sing 'vision of love' any more like
she used too, but then I just downloaded her performance in LA last month and she killed it
