i just saw lindsey buckingham live and the show was incredible! it was not a fleetwood mac show so the set list was really different and refreshing. some mac songs popped up, especially when stevie nicks joined him on stage for a couple of songs, but a lot of the material performed was from his solo records. after the taping (the show was being taped for soundstage chicago) lindsey stuck around and played a few more songs. one of those songs was mine and purplegypsy's request for 'save me a place'! what a great song and a fantastic rendition. even with all the great music, though, the best part of the night was meeting lindsey after the show! he signed our tusk albums and exchanged a few words. such a cool guy! i'll leave all of the meaty details to purplegypsy, as she will no doubt be dying to tell the story, but suffice to say this evening was something very special. i just wish i knew when the taping will be aired...

Ok OK OK I'm still shaking from my hug, kiss and getting my TUSK ALBUM signed by Lindsey after the show. The concert was PHENOMENAL!!! WORTH THE TRIP FROM NYC!!! He sounded better than ever...the crowd really got him going and he was just so funny and so appreciative!!! He did each song twice (except Big love) and I have to add in here that people were screaming out songs for him to do and he goes "well i have set songlist but maybe i'll come back out later and we can do jam or something..."I must have said "Save Me a place' about 20 times wondering...hoping...Here's the setlist and i'll try to explain special moments from each... i know the FM fans on this list will appreciate this...
someone's gotta change your mind Steal your heart away big love go insane trouble Peacekeeper Red Rover Never Going Back Again (with Stevie--after they did this twice, someone screamed out FROZEN LOVE and Lindsey and stevie looked at each other like "could we do this? SHOULD we do this? and then she started belting out the first verse!! ok the first two lines and then she said "i forgot the rest!" and laughed--it was so cute) Say Goodbye Murrow Turning over in his grave GYOW Encore: I am waiting (stones cover) Down on Rodeo Then Lindsey came back and I'm still screaming SAVE ME A PLACE, losing hope. And someoone yells Bleed to love her... so he startsplaying that... then after Bleed, someone yelled MIRANDA and he smiled was like "god i haven't done this one yet...hmmm...how could we play this..." then I yelled out save me a place one more time and he turned over to brett and goes "Save? Yeah we'll do SAVE!" I almost lost it!!! It was the highlight of the night- such a perfect way to end the night with that song...and he hit all those emotional falsettos...oh gosh...what a night... thank you lindsey and thank you everyone for my whackiness... imnot justsayinthis2bnasty is sitting right behind me and i just thought i would share that. good night. sweet dreams. Let the rain come down...17 days....

yeah, red rover was great! it plays like it was meant to be a live tune. much, much better than the cd. it was strange that nothing from out of the cradle made it out, though. i expected that to be the majority of material. oh well, maybe when he goes on a real tour.
