U never truly thank someone until they are gone. Thank U John, I feel like I grew up with you and your death is like losing a best friend that always could make U laugh when you were down. Our prayers go to U and your family, and we thank U for the laughs over the years.

I just can't believe it, this is the second most shocking celebrity death of the year for me, besides Gregory Hines.

when i walked in this morning, my wife told me that john ritter died. i couldn't believe it. i still record 3's company nightly on my tivo on nick at nite and watch it.there are episodes of that show that i have seen at least 10 times, but i still laugh. my all-time favorite scene in tv, period, was the episode in which jack tried to get into a hammock over and over to get some sleep.he just kept falling out!! i actually remember years back when i watched these episodes when they first aired, and it brings back pleasant memories of my childhood. i truly believe this is the best show in tv history, and i have been saying that for years. god bless to you and your family john.

What movie was it when John was impersonating Prince? He was dressed like Prince during the Diamonds and Pearls era.

and by the way, don knotts is not barney fife, he will always be RALPH FURLEY-i still can't believe jack tripper died. so sad.

He always had that ability to play "comedy" and really dark characters and just flat out dramatic roles. Not too many coud do that, I think Jackie Gleason was one that could do that, and maybe Tom Hanks and Robin Williams, I would easily put John in that group without a doubt. Just for his work in "slingblade" and "tadpole" or his comedy stuff, he also did a Starsky and Hutch episode and also once played a retarded character, a very diverse talented and unique man, who was loved by millions of tv viewers and really had alot of friends in "hollywood" who always said he is just a really nice guy, and I guess its fortunate to be remembered like that.

I slept with the radio on and woke up really early this morning with the news. I can't believe it either. Three's Company was a reguarly watched show during childhood. Who knows if I really understood the jokes and innuendos, but I laughed at everything. John Ritter was a riot especially physically. What really was crushing to hear is that he passed away on his daughter's 5th birthday.

John's death was a trip to me. Over the summer I was watching episodes of Threes Company on Nick @ Nite. His death is untimely and sudden. I can't believe it. Barry White...Gregory Hines...and now John Ritter. This is too much for me. Too much.

This is so sad. He was a truly underrated comedian. Unfortunately they don't broadcast Three's Company anymore here in Germany, they didn't even mention his death over here.

I loved his role on Three's Company with Suzanne Sommers. I saw him on Late Night not long ago, he was promoting his play with Henry Winkler on Broadway "Dinner Party". He had that great physical comedy and was very natural.

As far as I know "8 Simple Rules..." was very successful on ABC and I guess it was because of him. This is really sad.

As a child, I didn't understand why my parents would get upset when they learned of a celebrity's death.

Now, stars that I remember are dying and I am saddened by it.

John Ritter will always be Jack to me.
