I bought the album saturday and I have to say that it is a great album with strong songs.
I think i like it better than Heathen. The mood of this album is more upbeat. My fav. tracks on Reality would be New Killer Star, Reality and Looking for Water. I want to give the album a better listen, but haven't had the time yet. Bring me the disco king Has to grow on me i guess. Overall the album rocks and now i'm even more excited about the tour. Now the waiting starts for the New Killer Star single with the Sigue Sigue Sputnik cover. If david keeps up his one album a year cycle and continues giving us such fine albums i'm a happy camper. GO ON SON WHAT IF THERE IS NO TOMORROW? THERE WASN'T ONE TODAY!

Well, what can I say...
First time I listened to it I found it uninspired and "kind of simple musical exercise"... but I have to say that now after several times it is growin' on me. I don't think it will be remembered as a classic DB record but all in all IMO it's a good record, put together for high sales but with good taste. My favourite songs anyway are "New Killer Star", "The Loneliest Guy" and "Bring Me The Disco King".

I agree with those that say that She'll Drive the Big Car sounds 'uninspired'. There just isn't anything in the song of interest, IMO. Standard rhythm, rather uninteresting chords progressions and almost no melody. And I don't like the voice effect.
I guess you could say that I don't like that song! ...and Sausage, I agree with you on Fall Dog too. I like the song, but it just feels that there should be something in there that isn't there. I think the title tarck is great, but I would have kicked out those keyboards or treated background vocals or whatever that is. Less would have been more, IMO. But overall I really like the album. BTW, what do you say about the extra CD? Not REALLY worth getting, I think. The new version of Rebel Rebel is nice, but WAAAY too short! The other two songs really aren'T that good.

Defintiely. I must hear that soundtrack version...but I refuse to own anything related to a movie about vampires vs. werewolves...aside from my DVD of Abbot & Costello Meet Frankenstein! "Drop that stereo before I blow your Goddamn nuts off, asshole!"

So you don't think "Reality" and "Looking For Water" suck anymore? So are you warming to the album slowly? Slowly...but I still think that "Reality" really sucks, and that "She'll Drive the Big Car" is near worthless. I won't even talk about "Try Some Buy Some." It's like filling my asshole with boiling tar... But I am warming to most of it...I wouldn't say it's as good as Heathen, and certainly no Earthling, but it has its charms. They would be if it was a Top 15 list...but Top Ten is tough... Definitely. Especially with him. I can count on one hand the # of albums of his that deserve less than 4 stars.

How far have you gotten? How many spins? What are your impressions? I've listened to the first 4 tracks over and over, and am just getting through the whole thing for the first time. After I called you, I met up with a fellow student to do homework, so no Bowie. I wanted to remember what I had heard, but I got so addicted to it that I couldn't listen to the rest! So far my favorites are "The Loneliest Guy," "New Killer Star" and "Pablo Picasso."
