Pretty inventive idea for Outkast to do a double cd, one with Andre, the other with Big Boi. So, if you hate Andre, you still have to buy his album to get Big Boi. or vice, versa. And they are allowed two different videos, from each album; that is double the time on Bet or Empty Vee.

And the videos are pure genius; the songs are amazing, and really catchy. I see big hits.

Andre's song is almost rock. Wonder if it will last on BET.

it's actually a pretty inventive way for a duo to go solo, but still sell some records when people aren't interested in them as solo acts.

Outkast has a Wide range of Fans&also they are the Critics Favorites of the Moment.the music Business is Hard in all Styles for making it&especially a Decade long Career.so While I haven't felt a Whole Album of there's for quite some time I gotta give them Props for hanging in the Game&Keeping at what they are doing.they will Do really well with this Album.

Remember Left Eye challenged the other TLC girls to do the same thing few years back. Sadly her solo LP flopped terribly on release.

The Big Boi single doesn't impress me as a song or a video, very much the same old modern rap joint. If they were sold singularly I might just buy Andre's and download Big Boi's out of curiousity.

I think it was a great marketing tactic they used to release "Hey Ya" as the first single. Not only is the song funky as hell, it's great for TRL and their public.

Personally, I really don't see anything wrong with the way that Prince sells his music now. Futhermore, what may work for Outkast may not necessarily work for Prince and vice versa. For me, as long as the music from Prince is available and there is relatively easy access to his music, then that is THE most important thing to me. And I'm not trying to single out "2freaky", but I've seen several posts along the same lines. So it seems to me that some fans are obsessed with Prince being popular and on the Top 10 list on their radio and I just think that whole notion is played out. I mean, just let it go for heaven's sake.

Prince is free and doing his own thing. Let him do it.

Hey Ya needs repeatedly play for most people to "get it." That can only be accomplished with industry muscle. That is the case for most of Andre's stuff, as was the case for most of Prince's stuff, which was for its time very outta left field.

If Dre wasn't feeling so ambivalent toward the industry, he would by far outshine Big Boi in this endeavor. Big Boi has Sleepy Brown in his corner and that will carry him a bit, but when it's all said and done folks are going to realize that the musically innovative element in Outkast came from Andre3000.

As far as this being a scheme, I think it's a last ditch attempt by everyone involved to maintain the identity of "Outkast" the group long after everyone seems to know that it is over for them as a duo. Which is sad. Dre and Big Boi balanced each other out well and maintained a creative tension.

However their protestations to the contrary, the facts are that Big Boi is gonna tour to support his disc while Dre has no interest in touring; and Dre moved to Hollywood to take up acting, resume music lessons on the sax and guitar, and is talking about going back to school. The split disc seems appropriate... more appropriate than a single disc where the songs go back and forth from one to the other.

Outkast are great.

The main problem with the Big Boi song is that the chorus doesn't go well with the fast, southern fried rap. But, that guy sure can rap fast.

The chorus is so catchy, it is like crack.

Hey Ya is an odd song, but listen to the music deep in the mix--genius.

Well actually Andre has songs on his album that he has been developing for at least 5 years or so.
