I know I spent a long ass time trying to find Beep a Freak...It's hard when you have all their albums on vinyl and you still can't find the shit on CD!!! Show your love!! "Season's No Reason To Change" (1982) "Stay With Me" (1982) no the most under-rated are: "Disrespect" from the "VI" album (Puttin PPPHHH ON PHUNK!) "Gash Gash Gash" from "III" "I Know We'll Make It" - "VII" (KILLER Dance CUT!) hnorable mentions are: "Automatic Brain" VII "I Found My Baby" VI "Weak Spot" VI "Big Fun" VIII "I Owe It 2 Myself" (a remake) VIII i went on a Gap Band binge like 4 or 5 months ago and bought everything i could find by them. Found some very very cool jams (ones i named above). Straight Jacket Funk Affair
Album plays and love for vinyl records.

Everytime I go to a GAP BAND show, it's like a PFUNK set done broke out. Yeah that horn section is composed of PFUNK All-Stars Greg Thomas (altosax) and Bennie Cowan (trumpet Fluglehorn) moonlighting on their off days. They straight-up copped a bunch of chants off PFUNk too.
I ain't mad at 'em for biting off the P-Funk, they do it right! test

I LOVE the Gap Band! "You Dropped a Bomb on Me," "Early in the Morning," "Burn Rubber on Me (Why You Wanna Hurt Me)," "I Don't Believe You Wanna Get Up and Dance," "Humpin'," "Party Train," and "Outstanding" get me every time. I only have a hits compilation. Any suggestions for studio albums?

I might ruffle a few feathers, but I gotta say this...
I love the Gap Band but they began to slide when they came out with "Party Train" in 1984.I never really liked that song. It's too contrived, mediocre and not nearly as inventive as their earlier singles. It's like they had finally run out of ideas, and said "hey, let's just do a train song...those always work" (Heatwave's "The Groove Line",The O'Jay's "Love Train",etc). Subsequent singles and albums were a mixed bag.I love "Beep-A-Freak" (1984),"Disrespect" (1985) and their 1986 cover of "Going In Circles" was nice. But as the 80s wore on,you could tell that their best days were behind them.

I always wonder if Charlie Wilson was part of Parliament at one time. There is a Parliament song that I can't think of right now but it sounds like Charlie Wilson's "Dance sucka" and his signature laugh.I ain't mad at 'em for biting off the P-Funk, they do it right!

It has Yearnin' For Your Love, Burn Rubber On Me AND Humpin'.

there biggest problem to me after 83 was a Heavy-handedness on Re-Thread's.they did it a few times with "Outstanding"&Other cuts once they started to cross-Over more&it took it's toll on there Music."Party Train" showcased more towards the video than the Song.I Agree with you there.PeaceI love the Gap Band but they began to slide when they came out with "Party Train" in 1984.I never really liked that song. It's too contrived, mediocre and not nearly as inventive as their earlier singles. It's like they had finally run out of ideas, and said "hey, let's just do a train song...those always work" (Heatwave's "The Groove Line",The O'Jay's "Love Train",etc). Uncle Charlie can still bring it. He did a concert at S.O.B.s in NYC 2 years ago that is still fresh in my mind. His vocals are the best in the business. I think Aaron Hall from Guy sounds alot like him. He also did vocals on Snoop's Beautiful song w/ Pharell.
