All-time favorite albums So which are all y'all's favorite albums?
I am not talking justa Prince albums here, although you're welcome to include some. Nor am I talking about which you think are of the best musical quality. I am talking about which albums meant the most to you. That you heard for months and months and kept returning to for years and years. In short, your personal favorites for whatever personal reason that you are welcome to share as well. My all-time favorites include: Olivia Newton-John: Physical - before Prince, this album stayed on my play for years. I got it while recuperating from operations in my feet, so's I couldn't walk. I could justa read and listen to this. Over and over. Prince: 1999 - non-stop good tracks. Very influential on my impressionable, youthful, rebellious mind. It got me going on New Wave and things. Prince: Lovesexy - At first, I was a little down on the spirituel content, because I used to be actively atheistic, but following the tour - which was THE greatest show on Earth, ever - it won me over. And it IS very much a "concert"-like sounding album. And as my own spirituality developed over the years, my love for this album grew likewise. Chaka Khan: CK - because it is just such a deloverly romantic album. Wendy & Lisa: Eroica - It's justa really good. "Don't Try To Tell Me" is really, like, about being gay, right? There's more. I'll mebbe post some of them, too, but now I wanna hear about yours. [This message was edited Thu Sep 11 21:08:27 PDT 2003 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Gay Dad: Leisure Noise - A "concept album" with a story about "recognizing" a person and not getting "recognized" in return which completely blew me away because I was in the midst of trying to recover from the exact same experience when I stumbled upon this - I got it to review it for a magazine - and I was, like, "OMG, I'm not crazy! Someone else went through the exact same thing".
Needless to say, this album holds a very special place in my heart. (Spellcheck edit) [This message was edited Thu Sep 11 18:57:31 PDT 2003 by scififilmnerd] FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Gosh! There's a lot from before you were even born! Were you, like, listening to your parents' albums growing up? I was! That's why Boney M.'s Love For Sale is among my all-time favorites. My mother played that a lot. Now I've got it myself and it just conjures up all kinds of deloverly memories of my childhood. Listening to it makes me feel... "home". See, that wasn't so hard. Although I think Madonna's Erotica is a tad over-produced, I agree that there is some good tracks on it, even though it's not on my list. Ray Of Light is because I experienced something very memorable to that one. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Gosh, that's a Danish group. Very popular among my gay peers, but... I just couldn't get past the girl's lack of singing ability which is kinda weird considering that I kinda could with Mayte. FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

I remember Barry White well, although I don't have any albums with him. (And no, it's not because of his repeated presence on Ally McBeal.) My mother had a hits collection - yes, they did have those in the seventies as well - with a Barry White song on it. Gloria Gaynor played that same song at her recent concert in Copenhagen, but now I've forgotten it's title. ) FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!

Prince's one-word titled songs/Come album that never was - pulled together from various sources and collected on a tape - I listened to this a lot for years and years. Dunno if the track list is the correct May '93 one, but it worked for me:
Poem, Interactive, Come (Beaut. Exp. version), Endorphinmachine (pre Gold version), Peach, Space, Pheromone, Loose!, Papa, Race, Dark, Solo, Dolphin, Pope and I added Zannalee (Gold Tour video version), What's My Name? and Strays Of The World just for good measure. Those songs rock FREE THE 29 MAY 1993 COME CONFIGURATION!
