the DAVID BOWIE live broadcast

i just came back from the melkweg, amsterdam, netherlands.

liked the show ! especially

NOT THE LONLIEST GUY
BRING ME THE DISCO KING

because his voice and emotion in it were so beautiful.

the interview was very funny, some good jokes.

an evening well spent...

WHAT DID YOU THINK ?

oh ok...

he played the entire album in the same order as on the cd. the concert was heavy guitar based. the bass and drums were very loud, but could be the joint i was in. i noticed how close to the album they performed the songs. at one point david had to look at his lyric book, just like prince does. he was wearing jeans.

then a short break and questions from fans around europe, which were very hard to understand, better turn the sound way down when you have the chance to aswer bowie something next time, echo echo ! he answered questions about his dog, what his worst album is (NEVER LET ME DOWN), what inspires him (his band). this was very funny, both jonathan ross (who was hosting the show) as david made a lot of jokes.

than some more songs (voted for by fans on bowienet: HELLO SPACEBOY, which was very heavy, and two oldies that i didn't know, CACTUS (my favourite) and AFRAID from HEATHEN
and than NEW KILLER STAR again.

if you want to know more, just ask me !
yes SIR!

The band and Bowie were great, but really the sound sucked at the beginning. At least where I was (Hamburg), you could NOT hear his voice. Got a little better though.

The Loneliest Guy and Bring Me the Disco King were indeed amazing! And especially Reality and Hang on to Yourself had so much energy.

Glad to see "Cactus" in that line up. That really should have been a single. Wish I could have seen it.

I just read a note on BowieNet from Tony Visconti that the sound difficulties were caused by the cinemas. The voice came only through the center front speaker and some of the cinema technicians apparently didn't turn it up enough.

If I hadn't seen him in NY a few weeks ago, I would feel shortchanged right now.

It was a great night.
Even though I kinda forgot it was monday and stressed out Noepie...
Cuz I didn't show. Thank God for Amsterdam being so small.

I pedalled like crazy to get to The Milkyway. As I am not in tip top condition I was broken when I arrived. My throat just needed them beers to get some water...erm beer back into my system.

Where I found out I still had about 40 minutes before it started.

Anyways. Noepie, you do not want to know how guilty I felt. And how bad when Onno did not join us...
He looked so cute. Damn all straight guys.

And my fave was abso-fucking-lutely Bring Me The Disco King

I am now so bummed out for not having tix.

If anybody in Holland has a spare ticket (or if Onno decides not to go) please think about Gooey.
