NEW KATE BUSH STUDIO ALBUM Mick Karn is playing bass on Kate's eighth studio album, as reported on the of his label Medium Productions. The same site (now newly designed) has updated with the latest Karn news with the following headline: "Kate Bush - Mick appears on Kate Bush's next album, 4 years in the making. Mick plays bass on the track 'How To Be Invisible'. We have no release date at this stage." Obviously this could just be the working title of the track. Nevertheless, this is interesting news.
According to musician friends of Kate she is still busily recording her eighth studio album and is said to be "happy and full of energy". In a recent Mojo magazine feature her business manager was asked when the new album might be released, the reply was "how long is a piece of string?". rumored release date in Dec 2003 - Jan 2004 I never know any thing about this, I was recently introduced to Kate (a few months ago) I would love to see what she can came up with [This message was edited Tue Sep 9 10:45:35 PDT 2003 by twink69]

I have a feeling it'll be released in the spring. As it's now september I think we'd have heard something about it if it was to come out this autumn.

c'mon kate, i aint getting any younger! She started putting an album together in the mid 90's but didn't like what she had written so she shelved it and took a break to get some fresh inspiration. Then she fell into a deep depression and took to her bed for a few years. She then began working on an entirely new album and found herself pregnant so took some time off to enjoy being a mother (which is only right) before returning to her work late '99. There have been more breaks than usual during recording simply because she wanted to spend time with her family. . [This message was edited Wed Sep 10 8:27:11 PDT 2003 by Cloudbuster]

I'm not sure about her deserving to be more treasured than The Beatles (even tho' she's my favourite artist). Although, that said, The Beatles were essentially a rock and roll band who went a bit weird for a couple of years whereas Kate has always been a bit weird. She's certainly a more original talent than The Beatles ever were.

Kudos 2 Tricky. My friend Youth played bass on The Big Sky, and the last I heard, my other friend Jaz had been doing some work on the album at one stage. Dont know if this is still the case though.
