Coldplay is alright but they are a total AHA ripoff, even they admit the influence, listen to the last 4 AHA cds and u swear its Coldplay.

Good work having that avatar up in record time! Wow! I don't get the Coldplay thing either but hardly any of it made sense to me.

I watched the show - never listen to the radio, hadn't heard most of the stuff played, but thought coldplay was pretty much the only performer tonight that had any talent - and Johnny Cash sounded better than any of it.

And really didn't hear anyone all night that sounded different than music 10, 15, 20 years ago. The rock bands sound like the same old thing - pretty much all of the rap songs sound like the same beat they've been using for years.

They're just this year's Oasis. Nothing to bother about. They'll be gone soon.

Actually I find that Travis and Coldplay sound pretty different, and both sound nothing like Radiohead nor Oasis. For starters the singers sound totally different, and if you took the time to listen to both I think you'd find that the music is not too similar either

Totally agree.

Its like saying Beyonce sounds just like Mariah and Janet. Unless you are into the music, all you hear is blar blar blar.

Travis are far more pop oriantated. U2 are far more rock, and radiohead are on another planet.

Exactly. And that's where I like m. God, I'm still not
recovering from the OK COMPUTER/KID A/AMNESIAC trilogy

HTTT has only just begun to sink in and by god, it's a
good album. I absolutely f*cking LOVE this band.

2 weeks ago, I rediscovered "Nice Dream" from TheBends
and I've been playing it religiously in my car since,
geez they've got some beautiful songs.

"Fake Plastic Trees" playing right at this moment. But
oh wait, we were dissing Coldplay.

Ehm, no sorry, can't help you with that one since I do
like Coldplay a lot. They've got some pretty good tunes
perhaps the albums are not perfect, but hey give these
guys a break. I'm anxious to see what kind of album they
are gonna come up with next.

Coldplay do not suck! They are a great band that just happen to play sophisticated, mature music. Too bad so many of you don't get it! I guess you'd all rather listen to 50 Cent in da club cause it's his birfday!

Yay! I'm glad I'm not the only one who appreciates this band!

ps...all this A-HA talk has reminded me that I have to get out and buy some of their recent work, since I hear so much about it that's positive.

Try 'Minor Earth Major Sky'. It's a lovely album.

'Memorial Beach' is my fave of theirs. A bit funkier but still cool.

Kewl...I'll have to see if I can find 'em at some of the 'import shops' around here, if not, I'll just have to order 'em...

Thanks for the tips!

Yeah, but Mr. Mcgee gave us Oasis who have done little worthy of merit since their second album.
