MAXINQUAYE!!!. Start there. Get "Angels With Dirty Faces" & "Nearly God".

Skip on Blowback & Juxtapose (although I'd suggest you buy Juxtapose used, as there are some great songs on there...only a few though).

Martina Topley Bird was one of the essential elements of his music and not using her in future projects was a mistake. BTW, Martina has a solo album that is fantastic. Look it up...

Both Organgrindor and Christopher give sound guidance. An introduction to Tricky would be a good starting point. Then of cause, Maxinquaye this is considered not only 2 be Tricky's strongest album but 1 of the most innovative albums of the '90s. Look out 4 the odd samples from the film 'Bladerunner'.

Unfortunatly Tricky hasnt managed 2 maintain that same creativity and orginality of Maxinquaye on his later albums. The follow up 2 Maxinquaye, Premillenium tension has some intersting tracks, 'Christiansands', 'Tricky Kid' and 'She Makes Me Wanna Die'.

An interesting and charismatic artist all the same. I hope U enjoy checking him out. smile

"Maxinquaye" is surely the best one. One of the best ever
albums imo, and not just by Tricky.

The rest of his material is hit or miss, some of it is
absolutely brilliant and some of it is absolute shit.

"Nearly God" was a good album tho, and "PMT" was rather a
nice dark brooding affair.

"ChristianSands" is one of his coolest tunes still. Wow.

TRON

Buy them in this order:

Maxinquaye
Pre-Millennium Tension
Nearly God
Angels With Dirty Faces
Juxtapose

skip Blowback and get Vulnerable at your own risk. and suss out his b-sides. some are among his best songs.
