i'm about to pull out my hair waiting! Sorry, maybe it's really better to wait. I will only listen to some tracks, certainly not all of them.

I really don't wanna hear a note of it until it's coming outta my stereo speakers. There's something about listening to online previews that spoils the fun of cracking the shrinkwrap when I walk outta the wrecka stow. Sometimes I give in and have a listen, but as a rule, I like to suspend my gratification until I can get the whole treatment.

I think I'll wait too. Nowhere near as much fun if you listen before you buy.

i actually downloaded the Loner mix of Bring Me The Disco King from the Underworld soundtrack last night... and started to listen to it, then forced myself to turn it off before i could make anything out. i'm quite proud of the willpower i'm displaying resisting this album until i can hold it in my hands.

Some snippets were on a CD rom that came with The Sunday Times newpaper last week. What I heard sounds really lame. Glammed up "Hours" outtakes, basically.

listen to the loner mix- its different enough that you won't be spoiling all that much.
just got the whole album. here's the verdict: new killer star - very very good. interesting lyrics. a bit rock-ish, but not as much as one would think. pablo picasso - one of the four best songs on the album, hands down. its this albums "cactus". have fun deciphering the lyrics never get old - ok. sounds like something off of "heathen". catchy chorus. the loneliest guy - second of the four best. depressing torch-burning bowie song, sang in his amazing operatic version of his vocals. looking for water - not bad. a tad bit repetitive. sounds like a reject from "hours". good guitar work. a definite stomper. she'll drive the big car - sounds like a faster paced "slip away" off of "heathen"- arguably my least favorite bowie song of all time. it'll probably catch on with me, but from the first 10 or so listens, this song is the worst on the album. fall dog bombs the moon - nonsensical lyrics, but a catchy number nonetheless. "there's always a moron- someone to hate." <- what a simple, but effective lyric. days - sounds like someone took "hours", put it in a blender, sucked out reeves gabrels' amazing guitar work, and made you drink it through a straw when your jaw is wired shut. not bad though. i liked "hours". try some, buy some - you know what? "she'll drive the big car" is better than this. this could be the worst song i've ever heard. sweet christ- bowie doing a ronnie spector impression. i think my internal organs just turned to liquid shit. reality - the rock song bowie's had in him for 15-plus years. he sounds 30 years younger. catchy, a soon-to-be-classic guitar riff- the third best song on the album. leading up to... bring me the disco king - sounds like a tori amos song on mescaline. fucking brilliant. amazing lyrics sung, again, in operatic bowie. it will crawl into your head a fuck your mind til your ears bleed. amazingly subdued. listen to the "loner mix" and compare. the two songs manage to do the same thing but sound remarkably different. absolutely amazing. all in all- 8 out of 10. now i know what this is all about. now i know exactly what i am.
