Duran Duran want to work with Justin Timberlake EIGHTIES’ new romantics DURAN DURAN are to record a single with JUSTIN TROUSERSNAKE.
The band — whose hits included Girls On Film, Save A Prayer and Hungry Like The Wolf — are hoping to get in the studio with Justin after meeting him at last week’s MTV Awards in New York. Lead singer SIMON LE BON, NICK RHODES, ROGER TAYLOR, ANDY TAYLOR and JOHN TAYLOR went out to party with Justin after picking up a Lifetime Achievement Award. Simon said: “We went to Justin’s party to celebrate winning our award and we had a great night. “We spent a lot of the night with him. He is a great bloke. “I told him I think his album is fantastic and we talked about doing something with him. “It was such an honour for us to get the award.”

What a nice and desperate attempt to revive their career. But why didn't they start singing at the VMA's since they are hungry like a wolf? Anyway, I bet Justin is quite excited about his new senoritas.

Simon Le Bon is such a crap singer, he makes Justin Timberlake sound like Frank Sinatra.

That is sooo rediculous. Justin sounds like he's just taken some helium. Simon isn't the best singer, but he is good and has some great moments.

Maybe it will be for a remix or something? Their new songs sound really good. I got some live tracks from recent shows in Japan. I don't see where Justin would fit in on those songs. This was reported by the London Sun, could it be just a rumor? They are reports that Gwen Stefani is lined up to work on a track with them too. That makes more sense.

Don't hate on Justin. I am no longer a fan of that type of music but the songs I've heard are quality pop songs. He's as good as anybody else on the radio these days including MJ post- Thriller. Janet, Madonna, Usher, Justin, Beyonce etc. are all in the same league in terms of current music and they all must work hard to do what they do. Hell, Justin would be doing Duran Duran a favor. He's certainly not beneath them and it would give them some much needed publicity. Although I may not wish to see it, if Prince wanted to work with Justin-- or MJ for that matter-- I wouldn't write that person off even though I believe Prince is clearly more talented. Who knows what they could add to the mix?

i listened to the 1st album remaster this morning sound of thunder and to the shore are classic duran songs! big thing wasnt one of my favorite albums from them. also here are comment from moby on duran this must have been one great show sucks that i missed it here are Moby's comment about the show Duran Duran 9/1/2003 - New York City so the other night i went to see duran duran at the old ritz (currently webster hall). and they were great. how could they not be great? a pop-band who wrote their own great songs and dressed themselves and played their own instruments (very well, i might add)? seems kind of novel now, in a world where we just accept the fact that most musicians don't write their own songs and don't dress themselves and don't play instruments. but how could duran duran not be great, i ask? they wrote 'planet earth' & 'girls on film' & 'save a prayer' & 'ordinary world' & 'the reflex' & 'wild boys' & 'rio' & etc etc. and they were cursed by what we can call the 'bee gees' curse. which is: 'write amazing songs, sell tons of records, and consequently incur the wrath or disinterest of the rock obsessed critical establishment'. listen to 'planet earth'(or 'stayin' alive'...). amazing songs with great atmosphere and great musicianship. but the fact that they were very successful and stylized means that the critics never took them seriously. which they should have. if the critics had championed the likes of the bee-gee's and duran duran and chic and harold melvin and the blue notes we would certainly be living in a musically superior world to the one in which we're now living. so now getting to the point...i actually went to see duran duran when they first played at the ritz (before it became the 'old ritz') when they first played there in the 80's (i think). but i couldn't get in because it was sold out and i was just a little kid with no ticket who had taken metro-north in from connecticut and who then went and played video-games on the corner of st. marks and 1st avenue (an old game called 'paper boy' to be exact). so it was kind of nice to come back 20 years later to the same venue and actually be allowed in. so, thanks. moby

I'll bet had he never been in nsync y'all wouldn't have a thing to say. Without N'Sane he would still be screwing Mickey Mouse. Neptunes supported his career with some fine tunes but even Justin will get boring, neptunes will support other acts and he will end up like any other untalented mtv boy. I won't give him any props for his (music)success so far. JohnDoe
