Make a halfway listenable single. The whole of American Life is very weak by Madonna standards...

It's by far the best song on the album and should work better than AL and H(which did nothing!). I was thinking "Hollywood" might get attention after the VMAs but if the Gap commericals didn't help..."Nothing Fails" sounds like the kind of song that even Clear Channel can't ignore. Big dance songs aren't really hitting and "Nothing Fails" is a pop ballad with bite and could work. Too bad everyone that wants a single out is to Bush radio.

So,as you can see,her career is fine.Some albums have sold more than others,but I challenge you to name another longtime pop artist who has sold records this impressively and consistently.Even 'American Life' managed to move over 4 million copies around the world,without having a huge hit single.When you think about it,Madonna was probably DUE for a flop record,considering how much success she's had in the past.

Although age shouldn't matter, I think the dance industry now thinks shes too old.

I seriously doubt it did with 4 million sales world wide. Personally I think it's her best album in years. The lyrics are honest and the music is pretty good too.
