You're in denial, buddy Apparantly it cost about 5 million to put together over a period of two years. Which is still a fuck of a lot of money. But how on earth can you feasibly spend 30m on making an album. That's just ridiculous. I'm surprised that you believe this, David. You know how much shit is spread around about MJ.

Characteristics of a flop are sales figured being considerably less than expected. Those high expectations usually go hand in hand with high production costs and marketing.
That's why 500,000 copies can be quite a success for a new artist while it might be a flop for an established one.

4 million is not a flop! 2 million is not a flop!
Sometimes people expect too much from the woman. Personally, I think she just carried the Ray of light/Music sound one album too far with AL. What was fresh, is now becoming the norm. Time for a change Madge. You can bet one thing, she'll do it. .

Just a question. How does an album debuting at #1 or even top ten; and selling at least a million copies of something by any artist..especially being around for 20 plus years, considered a flop? I've never understood this. By any artist period. Fan or not. That's were success is measured by sales and not the over all product or the artists achievements. I just think it's sad.
