ok finess. why you bring up a stone jam like this one?
cuz its a great song!

i remember him doing this one on SOul Train!

30 years later the sentiments in the song ring true.

here's a question.
what records label was the song on?

was it Glades?

no matter, no matter what color...mmm, you are still my brotha...i've always dug this track and its sparseness: just timmy, an organ and a cheesy-soundin drum machine. music

nice tune...

get on the good foot by JB
"jb is jb always doin' it ta death...i like the simple
guitar lick throughout the song...the man is funky...!

Love jones- Brighter shade of darkness

this one is a trip. i got the 45. i remember us crackin' up
at the "rappin" part when ole boy is talkin' about what a
love jones is...oh man what a tripped out segment.

another interesting point about the song. some of the guys
i knew said the lead voiced kid sounded like Mj.

well sort of...but when i saw them lip sunch this tune on tv
i was shocked! the MJ sounding little dude doin' the vocal
was one ugly sucker! (haha) no offense i'm just sayin'..
the little girls were goin' crazy over his voice and i know they were disappointed when they checked his 'mug" out!!!

too late to turn back now -cornelious bros. and sister rose

ahhh this one still makes me grin. i like the sandpaper
lead vocal balanced out by the pretty female backing vocals.
(the lyrics...rung true back then...to me anyway!)

Troglodyte-Jimmy Castor

you're bullshittin'? this one came out in 73?
man...i'm still trying to figure out how this one sold.
its a strange novelty type record. jimmy was a pretty good
musician but...

think about it - Lynn Collins

lynn preachin' and the jb's funkin' it all up.
( yeah FRED! hit me!!!)

finess you da man!!! (you got any mo' from this year?)

lets see what i can pull out more off the top of my head

Daydreaming -Aretha Franklin (aretha says this one is about
ex-temptation Dennis Edwards)

Pillow talk -Sylvia (i have the 45. sylvia's story is she wrote this one for Al Green! but something happened and he didn't do it. but she did! man,,. al doin' this would have been great! btw sylvia's greatest hits cd is pretty HOt.
there's a couple of cuts on there that were sexier than
PIllow Talk!)

A mother for my children- the whispers (walt & scotty...smooth twins...always silky smooth vocals)

Body and soul - Lost generation

dont turn around - Black Ivory

Suavecito - Malo (what a classic! )

Clean up woman - Betty Wright(well betty always did it up!
an underrated soul sistah...remember "tonite's the night?")

man so much goin on in my mind right now im sure i can think of more smile
