Brass in Pocket This Pretenders track was hot. (Reading BRO915's Kajagoogoo thread reminded me that this sound got airplay on urban contemporary radio too.) I love its subtle soulfulness. You go, Chrissy!

What a great singer & what a great song! I love Chrissy & The Pretender's.
Everytime I hear this song it immediately brings me back to the early 80s, playing pool with my friends in my buddy's basement, drinking Old Style & Boone's Farm, and trying to hit on every girl in the room.

I also remember hearing The Police's "Voices Inside My Head", Level 42's "Starchild" as well as a song by Kiss and The Who (wish I could remember the titles) on urban contemporary stations in NY. I think I Pink Floyd's "The Wall" got some play also.

LOL...I remember Pink Floyd's song "The Wall" getting played on R&B urban contemporary stations. it wasn't in heavy rotation...but it did get played. The Police's "Spirits In The Material World" used to get on urban stations too. My favorite two jams by Hyde and The Pretenders is "My City Was Gone" and "Middle Of The Road".

The Police's "Spirits In The Material World" used to get on urban stations too. Back during the Disco days the R&B station in my neck of the woods played Rod Stewart's "Do Ya Think I'm Sexy", but of course Rod co-opted Disco back then. But then, in later years they played Rod's song "Infatuation"...this was during the mid to late 80s. Jeff Beck on geetar. I still dig that one. My favorite two jams by Hyde and The Pretenders is "My City Was Gone" and "Middle Of The Road".
From the brilliant Learning To Crawl album. One of two great albums by the Pretenders I have. This post not for the wimp contingent. All whiny wusses avert your eyes.
