R&B Classic of The Day: "Fo-Fi-Fo" by Pieces Of A Dream (1983)

You guys remember this track? In the fall of 1983,it became a sizable hit for these guys.Pieces Of A Dream specializes in breezy jazz and Quiet Storm, but "Fo-Fi-Fo" easily crossed over onto the R&B charts. It's one of those hypnotic midtempo jams that stays in your head all day long...

"Fo-Fi-Fo" by Pieces Of A Dream
(written by G.Washington Jr,D.Wansel,C.Biggs)

"I once went to see
a lady reading palms
and she said to me
I wouldn't steer you wrong

she said,ooh,your lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4

there are so many people
who play the lottery
and sometimes they ask
they ask me how I feel

I just say,ooh,our lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4

(bridge)
Now,I'm not superstitious
And I don't believe in the pretentious
but astrologically isn't my number today

I was watching the game
just the other day
when Mose Malone
said to Dr.J

he said,ooh,our lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4
4-5-4

you know sometimes you win
and there are times you lose
but there's always a chance
that luck will smile on you

and ooh,our lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4

(bridge)
now I'm not superstitious
and I don't believe in the pretentious
but astrologically isn't my number today

you know sometimes you win
and there are times you lose
but there's always a chance
that luck will smile on you

and ooh,our lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4
hey hey hey yeah...

there are so many people
who play the lottery
and sometimes they ask
they ask me what I feel

I just say ooh,my lucky number
you know it's 4-5-4
4-5-4"
