Harlepolis

Ray Parker Jr. "I ain't afraid of no ghost" lol I laugh so hard whenever I hear "Ghostbusters".

I heard that he jammed with Lil' Man back in the day(after the release of For You).

I'm familiar with that Stanley Clarke and George Duke song "I Just Want To Love You".It's the track that comes right after "Sweet Baby" on their 1981 album.Yes,it's a killer jam.Flip the record over and play "Touch and Go",such an underrated ballad.

That Ray Parker Jr. song "I Don't Think That Man Should Sleep Alone" kicks ASS!!! In the summer of '87,that jam was blazing up the charts.Has a cool,Marvin Gaye vibe to it and it's more soulful than most of Ray's 80s hits (many of which bordered on pop). Some critics were saying that it sounds alot like Patti Austin's "The Heat Of Heat".

Btw,if you don't already have Ray's 1987 album 'After Dark',you must get it asap. One of his strongest, most powerful albums ever.

d-eye...(sorry fot the typo mistake...my mind goes fast when
i'm inspired...)

yep. "sweet baby" was the hit. but 'i just want to love you"
was my "cut"! i saw them do this on soul train. stanley
was my bass guy in the 70's (him louis johnson & larry graham...sorry larry haters...the boy is a DAMN good bassist. i ain't talkin' about his personality! )

"touch & go' is cool.

i never got the "after dark" album. but IDTTMSSA* (i don't
think that man should sleep alone" )was and is one of my all-time favorite singles. i've done an all-acapella version
of this...that's how impressed i am with the song.
(superb harmonies...cool chorus..."come on sugar..." do you
baby? )

the sentiments...a brotha can relate to it. (i agree ray jr...smile)

man it does have a marvin vibe to it...don't it?

(ghostbusters...man why you mention that tune? i still
crack up when i hear it. wasn't this the tune Huey Lewis
sued ray about?)
