marshall,gene.squirrel & red were homeboys from my hometown.
who began doing doo-wop and struggled through the 60's before hitting it big in the early 70's.

i saw them in the late 60's across the street from the
old regal theatre. man were they BAD.

do any of you recall these gems by the group:
1. 24 hours of sadness

4.give it away (this was the cut when i saw them!)

7 i like your lovin' (do you like mine?)

My mom got to meet the Chi-Lites back stage years ago. She thought Eugene was "so fine!" She thought Jackie Wilson was hot too! She tells me the story (I know I've mentioned it before) of how she brought me along with her to a Jackie Wilson concert (no idea why) and that we went up on stage and I sat on his lap. (Wonder if I thought: "I'll never let my mom change my diaper again"? )
