Xavier Naidoo and RZA

Istenszek's thread about "Die Flut" made we want to draw you attention to another (semi-)german song called "Ich kenne nichts (das so schön ist wie du)" by german singer Xavier Naidoo and RZA. There's also an english version where he sings "I've never seen and there's never been anything with the beauty of you".
Let me tell you, especially the german lyrics are really beautiful. Also, this song comes in a time for me where that is just THE song I needed, if you know what I mean.

So if you like, check the song out and let me know what you think.
If you like it, maybe try to find their performance from the award show "Comet", though I don't know if it's already circulating. The studio version is cool, but I couldn't believe my ears when I heard it live. Stunning.

Sorry, that you're in a "particular" time, but Xaver sucks big time.

And don't mention the Comet Awards never, NEVER again! This is the worst what have come out of Germany since something in 1932. It is just awful trash that makes everyone puke.

lol
I thought this was the forum to talk about trash from time to time, wasn't it?

And I'm curious, tell me why you dislike Naidoo so much. I think he's got nice lyrics and sounds honest when he sings.

Seriously, I know those award shows are crap but their performance rocked.

I just love Xavier Naidoo's "Abschied Nehmen", such a beautiful, emotional song!!! Everything, the song, the lyrics, Xavier's voice, the video...
BTW, I have not watched the Comet awards yet (but have recorded it from TV), but I am looking forward to hearing Xavier there (though I don't like his personality, some songs and lyrics by him are great as is his voice on some songs)
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

That's the reason why I dislike him. I don't think he is honest. To me he sounds and behaves like someone who found an image that works and exaggerates it too much, that it gets boring and unpleasant.

The fact that he performs at such an awful event like the Comet makes it even worse.

He is like Kelly Osbourne's imitation of Aguilera. Too much of everything.

Funny thing - I was just about to start a thread on Naidoo, since I had seen the video for "Abschied Nehmen" and liked the whole thing very much. Is he really hated in Germany? I thought he was the one mainstream star that was okay to like there. I know he has collaborated with all kinds of noneties in the past, but he's been getting some good rep elsewhere. What's so wrong about his personality then?

The worst thing from Germany since 1932?!? oh c'mon, euro-techno anyone? ...

Like I said, I REALLY love "Abschied Nehmen", it's a wonderful song.
I don't think Xavier is that much hated in Germany, but as I am no German I might be wrong. About his personality, he is said to be quite arrogant...I personally don't like him as a person because though he is no longer on good terms with Moses P. he still was when Moses P. broke Stefan Raab's nose, just because he made fun of him in his TV shows (Stefan Raab is a famous musician and comedian in Germany) and then told that he would pay everyone who would hurt him again so that he would need to go to hospital. Xavier didn't say anything to all this and that seems quite strange for someone who is such a spiritual person like he seems to be..
BTW, did you know that Xavier was in Paisley Park once and left his CD or some demos there (don't remember exactly)as he wanted to work with Prince (he is a fan)

Wow, I didn't know that! Really? Cool.
BTW, I think Xavier Naidoo might appear a bit arrogant at interviews but that's maybe because he doesn't liek to do them.

This is the fat fuck, right? You know Xavers first attempt? He tried to forbid the distribution because his first try sucked "massive". It's not long ago, after his popular new image as an religious enlightener succeded he didn't want to show the world his euro techno dance salad shit.

Anyway, believe him, if you want to.

Back to the roots! Back to Bavaria. He needs Lederhosen as a real Schuhplatler.

I think you are wrong, Rödelheim is a part of Frankfurt, which is in Hessen, not Bavaria. Bavaria is, btw, the one & only where I can see myself live in Germany. I used to live in Munich.

Munich is very nice, it's almost like Italy.

From what I've seen so far. I think his European/African soul image is quite refreshing, far more sophisticated than any American "soul" music we have seen of late. I'd like to hear the whole album, though.
