"Die Flut" Witt/Heppner

Oh my. I heard this song for the first time a few weeks ago.
It's by Rammstein's singer and some other pretty well known
singer/composer.

I don't know what it is, but German folks will no doubt 100
percent agree that this song is incredible. [the long vers]

It made me cry when I first heard it. Dang. No song managed
to do that in over 5 years.

Haunting. Truly haunting.

That's because it's haunting. And probably because it's in
German. The other German singer has such a beautiful voice
compared to the raw howl of the Rammstein frontman it's an
amazing contrast.

But the harsh brutal voice calls out for an ideal world
whilst the beautiful voice denounces the option a anything
better or bigger beyond this world and constantly tells
you 'eventho you cry out into the world that you despise
her and want to move on to a better one -there will be no
better one'.

Very very very cool.

It was a huge hit in Germany I think maybe 2 years ago. I agree it's a very emotional song, I like it a lot. BTW, the other singer you mentioned is the singer of the group Wolfsheim.
With a very special thank you to Tina: Is hammer already absolute, how much some people verändern...ICH hope is never so I will be! And if, then I hope that I would then have wen in my environment who joins me in the A....

Well I did that myself some time ago and though Heppner's voice is very cool, I was not too impressed by their songs, not to be compared to "Die Flut" at all IMO.

Wow. That's cool. Although, the lyrics are what makes the
song so special. Still, it's a cool tune I'm sure you'll
like it!

You're right about it. Absolutely stunning.
But damn, what's this Rammstein guy doing in that song???

...but actually when you consider the purpose of the voice, it's alright. Just really something to get used to first, IMO.

Joachim Witt is NOT the singer of Rammstein. He is a solo artist, who' s in the music business for over 20 years now. His first big hit was "der goldene reiter" in the early eighties, the "neue deutsche welle" era.
With "Die Flut" from the Album "Bayreuth Eins" he had a big commercial comeback in 1998.

The other singer is Peter Heppner from the band "Wolfsheim".

They have a huge hit in germany these days called "Kein zurück". It is a wonderful, depressing but beautiful song, that I can just recommend everybody. Check it out !
