people, could we stop the prince comparisons already!?

not one single thing on the record reminds me of prince.

explain to me what made you say it did.

damn, what's wrong with you people?

ps experiencing roy live is indeed even better than listening to his album.

My my my lol Manki, you neva miss anything under yo nose, don'tcha? wink

I've seen him live too back in 2000. He played "A Night In Tunisia" and boy he tore the goddamn place up to ashes. I always imagined him as smooth & safe,,,after that day I laugh when I remember how stupid I was.

Roy is one smokin' player. I really didn't hear the Prince sound you are refering to. What track number? Which song? I'm not trying to be rude, maybe there was something I missed. Hook me up, man.

BRO915

Roy is a very talented young brother. One of the few forward thinking jazz artists out there today. Gotta check out his latest release.

I have that RHfactor and I dont feel its prince like. it has more of a neo soul jazz vibe. Roy has been around for awhile...don't get the prince reference.

Track 5 is my favorite. So damn funky. What's up with Common's horrible freestyle? Q-Tip's cut is so great, its a shame Common is on this same album. He stunk up the groove.

i don't think com's rap stinks. i ain't good either. it's nice. the groove is a killer though. especially at the end with roy soloing a bit. the breakdown at the end is superb.

It wasn't that bad, I just think Common is too damn monotone.

not in general. but on this track, i agree. but the music is hot on 'freestyle'.

one of my favorite tracks from the album must be 'the joint' though. and live.. oh, man!
