Just bought George Michael "Listen Without Prejudice" [1990]

I basically only knew "Freedom '90" from this album, but you know, over time I heard my gay peoples mention something about how they like other cuts like "Cowboys And Angels" from it. I have Wham! stuff and Faith but somehow this album eluded my collection. I decided to check it out finally! nutty

I know the damn title tells me to Listen Without Prejudice, but I would love to hear you orgers recommend a favorite track or offer any special comments about this album.

I'm lovin' "Waiting For The Day" too!
Very smart Rolling Stones tag on the end.
Why did he use that "Funky Drummer" break twice on the same album? hmmm (It's on "Freedom `90" too.)

Oh well, why fuss? This album is tight!

Just about every track on this album is fantastic (except for Soul Free, lol).

I'm a huge fan of WeeGee (the famous) and was even more thrilled to see his work on the cover.

George Michael sings each track so sincerely, it's spooky.

The entire cd is amazing. In fact, it's one of my favourite cds of all time. If you like George, I recommend that you buy all his cds. They are all beautiful and passionate in their own ways. Listen w/o Prej. is a masterpiece!!

"Freedom '90" is still a banger. I remember watching that video every time it came on MTV's video show "House Party" back in 1990 (that's wayyy old school for anyone who cares to remember).

this is george's most under rated album , infact it is in my all time top 5 albums of all time (purple rain and sott are in the top 5 aswell) there is not a wek track on it whatsover , it is a work of genius , the only reason it didn't sell as many copies as the over rated faith is that sony didn't market it aswell.

the only reason?

He wouldn't appear in videos and he didn't tour it.

I read somewhere he calls it 'Listen without purchasing'

It's a pretentious title. Praying for Time was pretty bold for a first single, but I've had a problem with his songwriting from about this time. His musics too pleading and "meaningful" - from a guy who wrote Club Tropicana and Wake me up before you go-go. It's like 'where's the fun?' Faith was such a great pop album, it's like "sorry, I'm actually very serious. you may pay attention now."

COWBOYS & ANGELS!!!

I just love how the sax solo kicks in and takes you away...nothing like putting this song on after a late night out and some wine smile

"When your heart's in someone else's hands...Monkey see Monkey do their wish is your command"

Love that line...

love the song, love the message.

mynameisnotsusan, the fun started to be squueezed out about then, that's for sure. Listen to Older and u will get more fun squeezed out smile

I haven't bothered to check out anything beyond Older mainly due to poor singles after that that left me scratching my head.
