My Ol' School Take #.3:"You're My Heaven"-Donny Hathaway & Roberta Flack

The Stevie Wonder composed jam from the amazing "Roberta Flack Featuring Donny Hathaway" Album. Lets just pray that cheap ass Atlantic records re-issue a BOX-SET that features ALL OF THE SONGS that where recorded by the due Roberta & Donny. And if possible the radio interviews they did 2ghether!

Its amazing how Stevie could blend the FUNKY feel with the airy feel in the production. It would be intresting 2 hear the song remade by Stevie along Chaka Khan since they're the only due I could think of who could capture the same chimestry.

One question I'd like 2 ask to those who have mo' knowledge of the credits and what not(Finess, DavidEye & etc). Who's the chic in the backround who would be heard singing "I Won't let them take you" and at the end of the song?

Oh, Harle. I love this song and that album ever so much. I am not sure which sister was blowin' at the end of that song, but I do know that Gwen Guthrie and Jocelyn Brown did backing vocals for that album.

I used to play that song all the time on my parent's 45. It's a sweet and beautiful song.

"If angels whispered to you early every morning
It's really something wonderful and rare
I get up every morning, feeling that forever
I have all your love and all your care."

I had no idea that Stevie Wonder's magical touch was on there. Gotta find that 45 and check it out.
"Funkyslsistah… you ain't funky at all, you just a little ol' prude"!
"It's just my imagination, once again running away with me."

Being happy doesn't mean that everything is perfect, it means you've decided to look beyond the imperfections... unknown
