J.Lo's new song and video, 'Baby I love U'

...premiered today on BET. I think the song is kind of nice, and the video was okay also. You can see the dramatic changes coming through in how they usually depict her, usually focusing on her body, a 360 degree turn from the video ‘I’m Glad’, among the others. But when A.J and Free, the hosts of 106 & Park, interviewed two audience members for their opinions, they said ‘the video is whack’, ‘that J.Lo looked too pale’, ‘that she needed to 'show more body', ‘that it wasn't her’, and that ‘Ben Affleck is whack’, he he he...I can see how most people would say that, especially the young hip-hop audience, and with all the media focusing on their relationship, the bad results of 'Gigli, as they make Ben Affleck seem too controlling. To me, she even looks like Madonna in this one, and looks soft and just a little more natural, kind of refreshing to see her go down like that, but I’m still not loving her vocals, but the song is ‘nice’. But anyway, did anyone catch the video? It premiered the other day on TRL as well, (though I didn't catch it there, and don't watch that show)...and what do you think about it?

As a J-Lo supporter, the song stinks, and it sounds like some sad demo from a 11 year old girl whose parents told her she could sing!

The video SUX!
I saw this thing on Mtv and Bet and after 2 times, i shook my head in disbelief that she would even allow a song like this to come out or be released on an album, its sad and awful!

J-lo go back to hip hop/dance trax, not simple love songs that attempts to display vocal range and great harmony that you couldnt hit w/ a hammer as a note!

yuk!

What an ego she has? she thinks she can pull off a ballad/low jam

While she had all her fame, people like Ameil Larauex can't even get on the radio

"Baby,I Love U"? That's an original title,isn't it? wink

I'm tired of J-Lo.It might be time for her to take a hiatus and spare us all from these weak songs and stupid movies.

She looks like hell in the video. All washed out and exhausted. I guess she wants to milk the Ben thing as long as she can. Better release "Dear Ben' before the song becomes irrelevant.

It's not, thank god.

The worst part of the song is when she's trying to 'break it down' at the end like a sista. Whack!!!

i actually like the song. i think if someone with a better, thicker, stronger voice sang it, it would be wonderful.

but she just doesn't cut it vocally on a song like this. and she looks like absolute shit in the video. shiny face. bags under her eyes. greasy hair.

oh, and it has Jiggly clips interspersed throughout.

that'll probably be released during the promotion of their second movie together (yes, they actually have TWO -- the other one's Jersey Girl from Kevin Smith).

but you're right, that's months away, and it'll be irrelevant by then.

i do hope they get married though. J.Lo needs to keep getting married and divorced. it adds to her appeal to me biggrin

Someone with a great voice high voice could have made that song amazing. I also think its a good song with a bad voice. Better than her last ten things if you ask me.

I called a theather to find out when a movie was playing and it was a computerized voice and they called that "Gigli" movie "Giggly". I wonder if anyone say this movie that must have been so bad that political talk shows took time out just to bash it. Did anyone come out of the theather all "Giggly" or all "What-The-Fuck-Was-Thatly".

yes, the song and the video suck, but do you know what sucks even more?? BET! I agree that "joy in repetion" can be a wonderful thing, but this station plays the same rotation of videos all day long. This station completely sucks! I can't stand to watch it anymore.

I think J. is the hottest piece of ass going, but I didn't enjoy this song. When she's shaking what her Mama gave her her videos rock. When she tries to straight up sing its horrible. "Shake what ya Mama gave you girl!!"

H.O.R.R.I.B.L.E.

first of all, she looks like death warmed over
second, she just felt the need to insert clips of "gili"--all clips including ben, so once again she has shoved her love life right down our throats
third, she has proved, yet again, that she can't sing her way out of a paper bag

Now for BET,well they suck, but we all know that by now.

Another thing: the word "whack" is just that, whack. When whitney housten uses is to describe crack, you know that the word should be left alone.
