I've heard a lot of songs in my time, and I have to say that I think this is still the greatest sung song of all time. Every note is exactly where it's supposed to be from one of the greatest grittiest male vocalists to ever grace the earth. I grew up in the 70's on Teddy Pendergrass because of my mom. She bought ALL of his albums the week they would come out. So I know a lot of his albums backward and forward.

This arrangements and muscial backdrop is just gorgeous{as only Gameble and Huff can lay down}. My goodness, a voice like Teddy's is needed in today's muscial environment. Where have all of the strong masculine baritone voices gone?

Teddy had many imitators{Johnny Gill and Miles Jaye comes to mind} but his smooth subtle yet rugged vocals he lays down within verses couldn't be duplicated.

Every thing that is great about Teddy is in THIS song. And what a biting jaw-dropping climax this song delivers. Especially when Teddy flips into falsetto mode and delivers that scream. If feels as it the speakers are gonna shake and fall apart. If was as if he had waited his entire career for that moment in time. I would love to hear alternate takes of this song.

It's a beauty of a song that is masterfully delivered by the one and only TEDDY!!!

Sometimes, when I hear this song, it makes me cry. It is so perfect. Have you heard Jaheim do this cut? Man, it's nice.
