The Family Stand-Moon In Scorpio

I think I've seen this referred to here before...but, while putting the majority of my CD collection on my new iPod, I found this, at the bottom of a box, placed there after being played once or twice when I purchased it way back when it first came out. I don't think I appreciated it then; If I had, I would have been playing this shit over and over and over!
From the first song, I was like, "damn, how did I miss out on this shit?" I have to say that this CD is probably one of the best I have heard in a long time. I rarely compare other artists to Prince (whether you like him or not now due to all of the drama in the past few years, you can't deny that few artists are as unique as he is musically), but I would have to say that this would compete with many Prince cd's. There are very few cd's that I would call damn near perfect. I noticed that, and I forget what song it was, that even back then, the seeds were being planted with regard to radio, and it's propensity to disregard actual talent.
Great cd.

What about the bomb song, The Education Of Jamie? worship As good as Purple Rain. Yea, you heard me right.

Say Love is great. Plantation Radio kicks butt.

Quiet Desperation is great, but friends have told me the guy can't sing. lol

The gospel song with choir is great. This album would have been a hit if promoted. Hell, they wrote hits for Paula Fucking Abdul! Too bad an album this good goes out of print. this is better than a lot of Prince albums. Makes Brainblow Children sound like the muck in Barts drain.

All hail the great Sandra St. Victor, moon In Scorpio is a great one. They did hate white people though..lol
All you others say Hell Yea!! woot!

Damn...you're right. The Education of Jamie is hardcore. I think that is my favorite on the cd. And yeah, I think I would compare it to PR...it has the same formula; soft beginning, builds emotion throughout the song, and finishes with a powerful ending. And I don't think they hated white people...just saw that as Blacks, one has to come to know oneself as a Black person to truly succeed, lest you pretend that you're one of the crowd, only to be reminded of who you are at some point in your life.

lol for real...I just ordered their last CD from Amazon...should be interesting. But yeah, the more I listen to it, the more I realize that there is probably so much stuff out there that we will never hear simply because someone says that it's not viable in whatever market...

You better get ready for some kick ass funk. This is one of the greatest Stevie Wonder albums never made.

that's a bold ass statement to make when you compare their 4 albums to Prince's 24. lol By all means it was better, than Emancipation and New Power Soul though.
