MTV's Making The Band 2 Okay, after seeing last night's episode and the forthcoming episode, they need to either pull the plug on this show or re-name it Making The N***z 2.
These fools have too much fuckin' pride to try and call the shots and tell experienced cats in the music industry how they want shit done (ie Wyclef, D-Dot, even Papa Diddy Pop himself). If I were Puff, I wouldn't waste another dime on them (considering that they all suck anyway) and sign some REAL artists!

well, i do give them a little slack because i don't see how you can be made to make a whole album in 2 weeks. that's crazy, especially with 6 people who have totally diff. styles that have to be packaged together.
but hey, it makes for good TV and that's why it's the way it is ....

The idea of 4 rappers and a singer being called a "band" is foolish to begin with. Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

I have been following Making The Band 2 and I agree with a lot of what was said in here. You guys crack me up for real! Making The Band 2 shows the world that you can take the boy out the hood but you can't take the hood out the homeboy. All these kids have the chance to achieve their dream and it's right there dangling on a carrot and they still can't grasp it. Crab in a barrel mentality for real. All the boys are wack in my opinion, especially the reggae one, he had the nerve to call out WYCLEF on his production knowledge?! The look on Wyclef's face was like, "no, this fool didn't." A lot of them kids like Puffy said was "EXTRA!" Everybody put extras on everything ("CHOPPER ATE MY LEAN CUISINE?!"). But it makes for great television. I knew they weren't going to get their act together the second time around AND THEY HAD TOP INDUSTRY MANAGERS VYING TO ASSIST THEM! An unsigned cat would kill for that. My favorite to watch is Babs, the things she says are priceless: "We up here in the crib while y'all n*z out in the club shakin' yo a* with b*s ." But she summed up the vibe of the entire show when she said, "When this s* doesn't go down and we don't make the record y'all n*z gonna feel real stupid." Speaking of Prince, he should be the star of the next "making of the band" Just think about the possibilities. For the band members initiation he could send them out on the street corner to pass out copies of "The Watch Tower". Or send them door to door in search of Prince bootlegs and other unauthorized copies. Now that would be great television! Bringing Together Five Decades of R&B/Funk/Soul/Dance

To me this show perfectly illustrates how true success can not be given.
Same as AmericanIdiot. Someone needs to realize you can not tell people who to like.

I used to like Puffy, but after seeing him promoting 'new' artists, after he flat left the good ol' other ones, despite his return with Mary...after he made all those whack people memorize all the words to Biggie's song and 'Rapper's delight', I think he's just another a-hole in the business, who gets his way, just because he is 'that way'...so watching 'making the band' kind of confirmed that.
Oh yeah, and in another way, by bringing on these people with ghetto attitudes and mentality, with hopes, dreams, and aspirations of making it, this show often times sends off the wrong message when they have people like Puffy in charge, who instead of trying to make a 'difference', they just continue to feed into all the nonsense in the business world for these up and coming artists who think that's the only way to go. People have been through worst, but what I see mostly on the show is all the stupidity that goes on that probably hinders SOME people, who don't act that way, to enter the business in first place, as it also only feeds into stereotypes of how all the people interested in the music really are. And then when newspapers like the New York Post have any mention of them, such as in today's paper referencing the show 'How I'm living', they call it ‘a way for ridiculous rappers to show off they lavish lifestyles’...same goes for the music in the hip-hop world, but that's a racist newspaper anyway, but the point is still there... I agree starmist. i hate 'how i'm living' it sends such a bad message to people that materialism is the key to life, i wish BET would have put something more fufilling on.
I think that these cats will all go solo, unless that contract they signed is a death certificate, they probably didn't read it anyways ....

I've been following this show as well, and, no it doesn't look like that group is going to get very far. I can see Sarah doing her thing. And at times I feel sorry that she has to get caught up in the whole drama. As a matter of fact, Mr. Diddy is about to just drop that group and sign some other cats. Tune in next week.
And if you think about it, .orgers, we can all learn from this show. We all expected for this "band" to be made, but what we are actually learning is how some projects just don't work. We're looking at how bad chemistry and irresponsibility can lead to failure. I'm sure Puff is just wallowing in shame, cuz he had high hopes for that endeavor. Well, if he doesn't understand by now that nothing is perfect and not everything he produces is expected to be "bling bling", then he's in for a rude awakening. ...evidently they did come together because they do have a song on the bad boys 2 soundtrack..and it's good too. But you cannot tell if everyone is on the track or not. Puff was trying to get them to get their stuff together, because he only had 2 weeks to finalize the soundtrack and was trying to get their joint on there.
But I see they will once again be fighting on this weeks episode. Somebody has got to go...if I wanted what they did and P Diddy was gonna give me a shot like that..hell I would walk to get cheesecake with a smile. They all lack professionalism. You get a once in a lifetime shot and act like this. So disappointing... Love God and I shall 4ever Love u

Who saw MTB tonight? Drama! Drama! Drama! It is just straight up and down comedy watching them dissolve and eat themselves alive one by one. Next week Sara has beef with Chopper and trust me, it's not over Lean Cuisine.
Babs once again came with the funny lines -- "Let 'em fight" and "when diddy showed up i just went upstairs!" But BENTLEY had the best line of the show tonight with the unforgettable quotable: "when we make white people nervous they make laws called Jim Crow." Hmmm, MTB2 as American sociological microcosm? Only time will tell. [This message was edited Wed Aug 13 19:35:59 PDT 2003 by JANFAN4L]

such a train wreck. but you are glancing to see if there is bloodshed. Hopefully the only one with class leaves next week. At least she's not sucking her thumb. They all need therapy.

This shit is getting ridiculous, but what's even more sad is how we all continue to watch it-including myself! It's just amazing how MTV seems so eager to air this bullshit which, once again, gives a distorted and misconstrued perception of how black people act.
