Maktub

(Pronounced "mock tube")

Possibly the best kept secret in music.

Impossible to attach a label to, and unable to be confined to any of the "boxes" that so many people seem to enjoy using, this Seattle-based quintet is poised to break out in a big way.

Fronted by the charismatic Reggie Watts, Maktub creates a wicked groove flavored by old-school soul, 70's rock, funk, and a true free music attitude (they encourage audio taping and trading of their live shows).

Pick up their CD, KHRONOS, and check out their website at www.maktub.com if you want to sample some of what this band has to offer. (And there's alot to sample, since they have links to two or three videos of full live shows).

Check them out -- I don't think you'll be disappointed.
