question for bowie fans/bowienet members

i have yet to join bowienet (gasp) and i'm wondering if it is worth it. i don't want to ask someone on a bowie board because of course they will say yes (sorta like asking some of these prince fans if npgmc is worth it). i see that you get tix before others but is there a catch (like npgmc) and you get a 2cd set and other stuff but i'm wary after my dealings with npgmc. anyone have any feedback?

Anxiety

Well, I know Bowie actually gets involved with live chats every now and again, and he keeps an online journal with his writing and photography. Then there are the discounted concert tix, the free CD, and other stuff I probably have forgotten about or don't know of because I've lazily let my membership expire over the past year or so...I don't know how much it costs to be a member these days...is it reasonable?

well, thanks anxiety...i guess you are the only person here to have ever been a member over at bowienet! i didn't realize the concert tix were discounted, i thought it was simply a first chance offer! that may make it all worthwhile! there are several membership prices, by the way, and they start at $65...i don't think that is too bad if you get cds, cheaper tickets and other bonuses. hmmm, looks like i may be joining in the not too distant future!

Hi

Sorry 4 not replying sooner
I've been a member since day 1 back in 1997 or 1998 I believe

The real time chatroom is very good, as are the message boards. David has currently replied to us just about every single day for the past 2 weeks... depends if your post catches his attention.

He also makes his own posts too - daily sometimes.

There is also an online journal where db will let you know of any 'special days' in his life - sometimes just going for a stroll in Central Park smile

There's the special concert ticket allocations etc... and loads more!
If you have any specific questions, I'll be happy to answer them for you

Take care

thanks for your help! i guess my basic question is, simply, is it worth it? pros and cons, that sorta thing. in the past i would've just joined but after this npgmc fiasco of a club, i'm a little apprehensive.

TRON

Missed this one. I joined last year and it was worth it for the Roseland Ballroom show alone.

I would say with his World Tour coming soon, by all means become a member.

Yes, join NOW!
It's a sure-fire way of guaranteeing good seats on the tour

I must add that members do not know their seating numbers until they receive their tickets, but it's guaranteed pretty much to be within the first few rows
