As great as Prince is live the two worst shows I have ever seen were Prince concerts.

The worst of all time would be the first show at the Xcel Energy Center as part of the second Celebraton and the second worst would be the show at the Northrup as the closing show to the first Celebration.

co-sign on the xcel show, i wuz there that night...i went with a friend cuz it wuz her first time seein prince live. i've seen better shows durin a paisley party, man...

tri-sign that first xcel show sucked. I was actually yawning by the end of another hit and run format.

That show comes in as a tie with James Browne at the end of a very long summer great woods show. Wasn't James' fault as a convoy of tired sunburnt spectators had already left and nobody was paying much of any attention to his act which went up last. It was utterly discraceful.

I've been to a lot of shows, but the majority of them were awesome.

Just two weeks ago comes the absolute worst show I've ever seen

The Kottonmouth Kings.

They were part of a four day festival in south Ohio. I'd avoided them for years, and now I know why. I can't even explain it. I know they have tons of fans, but I really, really don't get it.
Keep your headphones on.

I hate to say it but it was a Prince show. Prince at the Aragon in Chicago. I love Prince, I love Chaka and I have nothing against Larry Graham, but it was my first real Prince concert and I wasn't really interested in hearing a bunch of Sly Stone songs(sorry Manki!) or Chaka songs.

I was at that show! I had a great time at that show, only because I was literlly at the very front of the place. I could've reached up and touched him...(I was thinking of trying it with Rhonda!). It was the 1st time I was ever that close at any show. My girlfriend and I were just in complete awe from being so close. But I agree with his set list kinda suckin. We kept waiting to hear Prince songs and kept getting these Chaka (Chaka mad?...lol...sorry that always cracks me up) and Larry songs. We both walked out disappointed.

Its far from the worst concert I've been to though. That award would go to Crosby, Stills, & Nash. I think it was around 1988 and I got incredibly drunk, passed out on the lawn, woke up, and threw up all over myself. I have no idea what the hell they played. The night just sucked...with no fault from CS&N themselves.

...I just realised I just replied to myself...I gotta blame all the dead brain cells from the all the booze I drank at the show! boxed

I have to say, I have never been to a bad concert--even the free concerts I saw were good. Both the free Living Colour and Time gigs I saw were better than most gigs you pay money for. Even concerts I thought would suck, didn't.

Actually, I saw this metal band, Impaler, and they sucked, a bit. But their fans were fun to watch.

I saw David Lee Roth and thought he would suck, without Van Halen, but he kicked my ass.

Candlebox opened for some band, and they sucked; yea, there's one. lol. Dokken sucked as well..lol

Howard Jones ? the same who had a hit with What is Love? in the early 80s? confuse ( I liked his first album)

Yep, that's him! I think he's released more stuff in the 90's although I don't have any of those. Well, I just called one called Live Acoustic America. Lots of songs I did not recognize on that one. He still tours a lot and I think he might sell his newer cds only at shows. His website seems to be down right now. www.howardjones.com

Blink 182 fucking sucked. My friend got free tickets so I went with her. It was terrible.

Prince at Club Life 2000 (I think) Prince played 2 of his songs and then gave the stage to Larry and his rejects. I was furious.

I hate to admit I was there, but The Hooters (opening act: The Outfield(!))

Sonic Youth bored me to death.

Grateful Dead (never liked them, but got in for free)

AC/DC (same thing. Got in free. Left after 3 "songs" - really, just one song when I think about it)...Actually, put this one first on the list.

I have never been to a bad concert, but that's because I'm very choosy about who I spend money on to see live. I've probably been to well over 100 concerts in my time and have loved everyone of them. I only see musicians that I like and who's music moves me. I don't go see the latest artists even if they have a killer song out.

Some Michael Jackson show my sister took me to...
The fucker lipsynch'd to his crap songs, so there wasn't anything remotely interesting or fun about that show except for the pretentious self-worshipping of the moron himself... And he made me laugh even harder at him when he did his trademark stroke/spasm attacks... That was also the day when I realized he was sadder than I figured he was...
What a fool did that man make himself that evening...

Neversin.

you won't get an argument from me surprisingly. The BAD tour was fucking brilliant and 100% live but each subsequent tour more and more lyp-synching, which was very disappointing to witness.

It's the one thing i'm disappointed with in him.

Michael Jackson BAD Tour. Wembley Stadium 1988.

For an artist of his calibre and standing at the time this show was piss poor.As far as the stage theatrics go , I've seen amateur street magicians perform better illusions.

ouch! a catty Madonna fan by any chance? lol

What point are you trying to make? No I am not a Madonna fan I just thought it was a lame show , end of story

Lou Reed, 3 years ago in Amsterdam.
There was no atmosphere and no contact with the audience.
I found it a complete waste of money and time though I really dig most of Lou's work.

I saw Lou Reed in Amsterdam three months ago (Carre) and the first half was great, the second half he had a bright idea to let some nervous Boy George-wannabee sing of his and The Velvet's classics... It was hardly bearable!

absolutely the worst: Ween, Munich 1997
These guys had sold out a small venue (approx 200 people) and were obviously surprised by that. The fuckers that they are must have thought: Don't expect us to do what you want! So we had the worst interpretations of odd covers (Van Halen, Iron Maiden...) and only two Ween-songs: 'Freedom'79'& 'Piss On The Rope'. Fuckers!

Second place: St. Germain - a french asshole who thought was original to combine jazz music with electronic club-beats, totally boring show, I walked out!

I was at this show. Were you the dude I saw standing outside and across the street from the club after the show was over, screaming angry obscenities at Prince? You scared me, man...you had a psycho look on your face lol

But yeah, that show was dissapointing to me too.

Musiq,,,UGH that was one of the worst live acts I've seen ever. The boy can't sing a str8 note 2 save his black ass, he sucks "big oranges" live fa sho.

The only good treat about his concert was his girls group "Aaries"(sp?) these ladies can sing, still waiting 4 their debut shit.

In cse if you don't know them, they sang with him on the Patrice Rushen's cover song "Settle 4 My Love" which can be found in his debut LP.

I too was at that show and just like you Pagey, I was right up front! But my experience was positive from start to finish. I guess I am the wrong person to point to on this because I simply just love seeing The Brotha play! He can play whatever the hell he wants to, and have whomever onstage with him that he wants to! I don't mind... just as long as I can watch his guitar mastery up close! I had a lot of fun at that show. Sorry your experiences, Stymie and Pagey, didn't quite live up to your expectations.
