Radiohead and White Stripes should leave major labels. They just aren't being backed by their record companies. They are too great of bands to be obscure. Why can't they be stars, instead of wack 50 Cent? They should do the right thing and sell their own music, like Ani. I bet they even sell more albums. I know they will make more money. All you others say Hell Yea!!

Neither band are exactly unknown...!
Actually, Thom Yorke was grilled a bit about this in a recent Q Magazine interview, where he was asked why he's cool with being signed to a major if he's so anti-corporation...he managed to skirt the question, ha...I forget what he said, something like "I have an incredible headache in my eye" or something

Record labels can make shit artists sell via marketing ext but only the people can make them STARS

He might still be all over the charts, but I'm not seeing/hearing the buzz that was there just a month or two ago. He better use those two quarters of his to add more time to his meter!

i'm so glad both bands are NOT that famous (well, Radiohead ARE of course) and still keep an underground status! even at a major label this is possible as it seems. the "fame" as produced by major marketing boosts is only money and not art. well, most of the time. keep it as it is,

radiohead is in the lucky position of having major label backing and STILL being able to do whatever the hell they want musically... and i don't think they can be considered "obscure" by any stretch of the imagination. Their latest CD sold more copies in its first week than either Amnesiac or Kid A, although it debuted slightly lower on the charts because of other new releases that same week.
i am puzzled however by the choice of Go To Sleep as the 2nd single from HTTT. Bad choice, in my opinion. Should have been Where I End and You Begin.

The other problem is that alternative music is heavely downloaded through illeagal means. I'm sure both bands have lost bunches of sales. All you others say Hell Yea!!
