8 pm they are airing the GAP commercial on VH-1...the trailer for this "premiere" is so cheesy-they're like "you'll never believe who the spokespeople are" or something like that--as if it wasn't all over the pop culture news indsutry already!!

they are premiering an ad...i love it! its like super bowl sunday or something!

Gap Lets Madonna Customize Her Clothes

NEW YORK - For its new fall ad campaign, the Gap gave Madonna (news - web sites) and Missy Elliott a pair of corduroy pants and several tops to customize to their individual styles.



Each had a big M embroidered onto the back pocket of her pants. "Lady M" was silkscreened down one of the legs of Madonna's light-blue, low-rise cuffed cords. Elliott decorated her pants with studs, attached a gray hoodie sweat shirt to a corduroy jacket and had an airbrushed portrait of herself added to a plain white T-shirt.


Rebecca Weill, director of public relations for the Gap, said the company sought out Madonna and Elliott because they're fashion fans who are willing to take chances. "We knew we wanted the campaign to have an optimistic youthful energy, something that would appeal to our more adventurous customers," she explained.


Joe Zee, W magazine's fashion director, styled the print and TV ads.


He said it was a coincidence that both women chose the same color pants. "Both Madonna and Missy liked the blue because it had a vintage feel."


Elliott brought her own monogrammed jewels to the photo shoot; Madonna wore a borrowed diamond wallet chain by Neil Lane and several diamond bracelets, together valued at $5 million.


"The diamond wallet chain is very street, hip and urban, but it's Madonna so we wanted it to be a little more glam," Zee told The Associated Press.


A limited edition Madonna and Missy Elliott CD remix will be available at Gap stores and on the company's Web site starting Thursday.

I want that limited-edition CD!! I never shop at the Gap,but I'll buy anything just to get the CD...lol...

Same here. I've never gotten anything at the Gap, but I'll pick up that CD. Hopefully its not a case where you have to buy something and get it free or even worse, have to buy something and then get the right to buy the CD! I get out of work early Thrusday, So I'll head out there. And by that time hopefully "N.E.W.S" will be at the CD store! Don't get me started! Maybe the Gap is selling that Cd too.

OMG, am I the only one who thought this commercial was TOTALLY cheesy! Missy's rap was good, but the dance moves looked SO badly staged.. and Madonna looked so out of place..
