What do you guys think of "Ghosts"? I think it's incredible.VH-1 plays it continuously around Halloween.I think Michael's acting is pretty good in it.

I think Michael is a good actor anyway. He was the best thing about The Wiz. As for Ghosts, yeah it's great. I like the way he samples the Bee Gees' 'You Win Again' as well.

lol The Wiz is almost unbearable, but it's true, Michael and the bloke who plays the Tin Man save it. Diana Ross was FAR too old to be playing Dorothy biggrin

He's an alright actor. It's a shame that if he ever did do any spot of acting again it could only EVER be in a supernatural/fantasy role.

I think the choreography in Ghosts is amazing. That's some tough shit to do.

Where is "Ghosts" available at? Is it on a video or DVD?

It has been available as a box set, as a video and as a dvd. The box set and the video were in European format originally, didn't know they were released in the US later on. I can image the DVD has been released in the US also, but again, not sure.
Anyweez, mayb u didn't know but Ghosts was first seen in US cinema's before it was released as a box set. It was a pre-movie to Stephing Kings Thinner (or something like that). There are different versions going around, for example the one released in cinema's had a much blue-er lightning. Also, the whole short film was conceived as a video for the song 2Bad, and it's only after filming they decided to also use Ghosts and Is it Scary. That's why some of the dance moves (like the skeleton dance) don't always go with the music. If i remember correctly the first talks about Ghosts started back in 1992 or something and all in all the conception of it took over 5 years.

Throughout the years, there have been countless movie projects that MJ was supposed to be doing.I remember in the 80s hearing about a film called "MidKnight" in which Michael was to play a dancer with special powers,or something like that...lol...I think he should just done a kickass "Grease"-like musical.

You can find the video on the HIStory on Film Volume II video/dvd. (It also has the 1995 VMA performance, the Motown 25 performance, the Refugee camp remix of Blood On The Dancefloor (which was great, and kinda the style i was hoping for for Invincible), Smooth Criminal and almost all HIStory-era videos, so def. worth picking up).

The Cast for the Liberian Girl video included:
'Weird Al' Yankovic
Paula Abdul
Rosanna Arquette
Dan Aykroyd
Deborah Gibson
Whoopi Goldberg
Steve Guttenberg
Jasmine Guy
Quincy Jones
Don King
Olivia Newton-John
Lou Diamond Phillips
Steven Spielberg
John Travolta
Carl Weathers

Here's the video: the camera swings from one big name to the next as they arrive at the set, and they all say the line 'But where is Michael?' (Liberian Girl is played almost inaudible in the background). Then, all of a sudden, they point at some random point in the sky, acting all surprised and saying 'oh no you didn't'. Then there is a 5 second shot of MJ sitting on a camera-crane-chair thing laughing and waving (the shot is obviously taken in another studio, with a black background). Now we are half way through the song. And the credits start: Directed by: MJ; cast in order of appearance: and then a picture of all these celebrities taken just when they said 'And where is Michael' a minute ago with their names under the picture. After two minutes of credits the video is finally over, the song ruined for the rest of your life and a new standard for WORST VIDEO EVER is set.

True. But I think Motown wanted a famous person to play the role,so a big star like Diana was an obvious choice (even though she was too old...lol).In 1978,Stephanie Mills was unknown to the general public.I've always felt that Irene Cara would have been perfect in that role. She's pretty, she can sing (she was great in "Sparkle") and best of all,she was young.

I used yto really LOVE Is It Scary, but Jam & Lewis ruined it IMO. Too loud and noisy. They shouldn't have felt the need to hide his voice like they do Janet's because he can actually sing boxed An acoustic version of that song would be heavenly though.

U ever heard the DJ Greek's Scary Mix? It's on the "On The Line" Minimax CD. It's more a techno/house mix though, with sparse vocals

I'm more of a Morphine gal myself.

Morphine is thé cut headbang

the 'new' cuts on BloodOntheDancefloor r wild!

Morphine gets me ugly,i dance like mad to Ghosts & SuperflySister.

oh,im listening 2 a mousseT mix of "Ghosts".
its not bad music

i prefer a mix like Masters At Work "rock with you" tho.

well, 'ghosts' was a 'dangerous' outtake, right? 'is it scary' was intended for release on the 'adams family values' soundtrack. but around that time (early 1993) mike started getting bad press (you know). it was decided to keep the song off the soundtrack.
after that, with those to songs on the shelve, the idea to make a(nother) scary movie/video was concieved. that finally resulted in 'ghosts'..
