But Femi loves the song "Butterflies". So do I. I told him that the song was played on the radio here in Houston without even being a single.

While I don't believe there is really a full-blown "rivalry" between Prince and MJ,there has been a little friction in the past.In the 80s,both artists were clearly fans of each other.They both attended each others' concerts,and even played a friendly game of ping-pong together during a 1986 meeting.In 1987,MJ invited Prince to sing on his song "Bad",which Prince declined.But he did send Mike a tape of the song "Wouldn't U Love To Love Me" for inclusion on the "Bad" album.Even though Michael rejected the song,the two seemed to be on good terms as the 80s decade came to a close.Prince even added MJ's song "The Way You Make Me Feel" to some of his "Lovesexy" shows as part of an "Eighties Medley".

I think though,in the past few years,the two are on better terms with each other.In 1999,Michael once again asked Prince to collaborate with him.Prince refused,but he has played MJ's song "Billie Jean" at a few recent performances.

As far as bad blood between Prince and MJ, who cares. Prince is so far ahead and above MJ as a musician, performer, etc., that it doesn't even matter if they don't like each other. If I was Prince, the greatest musician ever, I wouldn't care too much about a bush league, washed-up pop star like Michael Jackson either.

Those of you who attended Xenophobia might recall the collective ROTF laughfest after one of the DJ's in the parking lot/waiting area "accidentally" mixed in a track from MJ's PYT (Pretty Young Thing) with the music. I forget whether it was Damon Dee or one of the other Paisley employees...but somebody yelled into one of the mics at the DJ "You're Fired." Everybody got a great laugh out of it...
