OFFICIAL SUMMER JAM: "Milkshake" by Kelis

Forget Beyoncé's Crazy In Love, Lumidee's Uhh Ohh (Remix) or Ashanti's Rock Wit U (Awww Baby), have you heard Milkshake. IT IS THE OFFICIAL SUMMER JAM/CLUB BANGER OF 2003!

My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
and they're like it's better than yours
damn right, it's better than yours
I can teach you, but I'd have to charge!

La la la la la
warm it up...
La la la la la
the boys are waiting
La la la la la
warm it up...
La la la la la
the boys are waiting

She always drops the hot first single.

GO KELIS!!!

Is Milkshake a "Neptunes" produces track?

After leaving Virgin the Hip Hop the chameleoness is newly signed to success duo the Neptunes’ new label Star Trak and is getting ready to release her third album.

Kelis has released herself from the claws of a major label, label reps, manager and decided to open her creative wings a bit wider and wrote over 60 percent of the new material off her own back.

Her new album has the saporific title Tasty and is due out on October 6, 2003. It will be released by Star Trak, the new label of the Neptunes asubsidiary of Arista Records, who aready added their production signature on Kelis’ previous two albums and who’s influence will also be heard on the new album, but not quite as strongly.

Since Kelis made her glorious entry to the big music scene, she always liked to be open for exciting collaborations. She sang for people like Busta Rhymes on “What It Is,” on Moby’s “Honey” remix, Foxy Brown’s “Candy,” LFO’s “Dandelion,” and N*E*R*D’s “Truth Or Dare” and also features on on Guru’s “Jazzmatazz: Streetsoul” album, just to name a few.

Unlike “Kaleidoscope” and “Wanderland” on Tasty Kelis proves her openness for collaborations and invited a number of producers. Among the 20 songs Kelis had completed so far, she collaborated on five with Raphael Saadiq (Tony! Toni! Tone!, Lucy Pearl), a few with Dallas Austin (Monica, Madonna), one titled "Guilty Girl" with her new manager P. Diddy, and another called "Running Mate" with Timbaland and finally she also worked with Dame Grease (known for producing DMX). Kelis has not introduced any artists to her album yet, but a collaboration with her fiance Nas is in the planning.

Kelis wants to record five more tracks and has yet to confirm which songs will make up the album in the end. There’s a song called “Milkshake” which will feature as title track and be released this month.

For a first pre-tasting of the new album, you should go to one of the Sprite Liquid Mix-Tour dates in August, where Kelis will join the Neptunes and Talib Kweli to perform a few of her new songs.

Milkshake is bumpin. You can definitely twerk something to that record. I can just see it in the clubs now. Plus, for those kids that don't know "Milkshake" is refering to the booty and how it wiggles and gyrates razz

Harlepolis

Sounds like a song I used in Kindergarden 2 tease other kids it rhymes like this part:

My Milkshake brings all the boys to the yard
and they're like it's better than yours
damn right, it's better than yours
I can teach you, but I'd have to charge

But different lyrics lol

The melody and the rythem sounds a bit like "Nasty Girls" from Vanity 6

It's a good track, shame that the THL sample is so low in the mix, it kinda ruins the vibe.

Check out Richard X's album if ya like Finest Dreams though, it's consistent and more interesting than I had expected it to be.

I'm a sucker for a major chord
