too bad she didn't stick with the formula from The Id because Trouble With Being Myself is kinda lousy.

"But suddenly landing on the "out" list wasn't much fun.

"If you're No. 1, you're more of a priority than No. 25. Like, on every level. Like you go to a party with a No. 1 record, you get eight people in," she jokes. "No. 25, you can have two."

How fucking shallow is that? I mean come on, this women is worried more about her the impact of her fame and doesn't even stop to think--gee 3,000 people died on 9/11 in NYC-yes my album failed because it was released the time of this tragedy, but I'm still healthy and alive while the families of the WTC victims will have to deal with loss of a loved one for the rest of their lives. ANd what happened to it being about the music, not ht eparties? I swear Macy got mad when they stopped giving her complimentary pot to blow away the last brain cell she has. People like her don't deserve success.

Yep. I agree with you. Unless she can come up with another killer song like "I Try," Macy is finished as a top pop star.

Gray Shies Away From National Anthem

NEW YORK (AP) - Don't expect to hear Macy Gray belting out the national anthem at a sporting event anytime soon.

Gray was famously booed for her off-kilter rendition of ``The Star-Spangled Banner'' in August 2001, when she garbled the words at the Pro Football Hall of Fame exhibition game in Canton, Ohio, her home state.

``That was definitely life's most embarrassing moment,'' laughed Gray during a recent interview with The Associated Press.

``You don't want to do that, you don't want to (mess) up the national anthem. And worse than that, I got on the press and I said, `Yeah, they need to change that song anyway,''' she said, laughing again.

Gray, 32, acknowledged that the national anthem is ``not my favorite song.''

And if offered the opportunity, she wouldn't sing it again.

``I don't think I have the voice for it,'' she said. ``You've gotta be like Whitney Houston to really blow that song out.''

Gray's third album, ``The Trouble With Being Myself,'' is set for release next week.
