i actually used to loathe puff, but now as i am older and more understanding of the music industry and what it takes to make it i actually appreciate the hell of puff.

his work ethic when he was first getting started out and trying to get on was impressive.

he has redefined himself and is still doing his thing.
i dont agree/like some of the music he puts out, but as a business man i think he is smart.

i actually enjoy making the band II. it is funny and interesting. i agree that those kids are wack, but i think the story lines are quite good. those bratty ass kids should be made to read russel simmons biography and learn the words to rapers delight, etc. i mean how can they be fronting like they "hip hop" and dont even know the 1st verse to rappers delight? gimme a break.anyway, you dont have to love puff, but dont front on what he has done and worked for.

You have got to be kidding me! Do you think when you go out to Nashville to make it big they make you sing old Loretta Lynn songs to see if you know your contry history? If you got it, you bring it. I love Rappers Delight but some of those kids were not even born when the song came out. Do rock acts today have to show that they know Led Zep lyrics, or words to Beatles songs. That is the Teacher trippin, not the students. Those kids have an IDIOT as a teacher. They need a real professional teaching them the industry, not how to walk to Brooklyn for some f*7king cheese cake! Bling bling bullshit, walking up in your suits and fancy ride. If they want to strive to be like that piece of jacked up trash, go ahead. There will be no platinum records and no strech escalades in theur future. Find another mentor.

nashville and country music aint hip hop. hip hop aint just music it is a lifestyle and a culture. a lifestyle and culture that a lot of people take very serious. it involves grafitti, breakin, turtablism, beat boxing, dress, attitude, freestyling, etc.

i cant really speak on country music because i dont buy/listen to it. i am sure a lot of rock acts today do know led zepplins songs and riffs along with the beattles, etc. there sure are enough acts to come out in the past 10 years that sound just like them. (lenny, oasis, etc.)

plus you have to realize this is a damn tv show on mtv.

i dont care if the kids dont know rappers delight or not, but they should. anyone who wants to do something seriously show know what they are getting into and research and learn about it before trying to jump into it. thats like going for a job interview and not knowing shit about the company you are trying to get a job with.

hell if i was puffy those damn kids would have to know a lot more about hip hop than rappers delight.

you obviously have no respect for puffy or his music and that is fine, but dont front. you know your ass has danced to some of his production and music before. right? i guess you didnt like mary j's first album (whats the 411?) or any of biggie's stuff. if you ever went to any club during the 90's your ass was dancing to a song that puffy had something to do with. period

dont front.

I guess, to speak your language, I ain't frontin', never have fronted, never will front.

now..

You are so sucked up into the sterotype of hip hop and its image and what its suppose to represent, that you think everyone who knows rappers delight, beatboxes, break dances, dresses a certain way and can spray grafitti, is true hip hop. Get real and wake up. I guess to be true to the group they should all get gold chains, gold teeth, new addias with no laces, and a fresh kangol.

And I don't buy country but I think it also is a lifestyle and culture that they take very seriously, but everyone doesn't wear a cowboy hat and a shiny big ass belt buckle.

Hip hop does not need to be created or formed to fit some kind of bling bling mold.

And I am not crapping on P's music at all, he has some good jams, I just don't like him, what he represents, or who he trys to manipulate. You, on the other hand, buy his music, love his style, support him and think he is doing a great job. I think he is an idiot. (oh, did i just front? What the hell does that mean anyway?)

And for your job interview reference, these are kids that do not know a thing about the business, they just know what is playing on their nearest radio. They want to go on tour and be stars. If they are true hip hop, they will make it, no matter how they dress or how good they beat box.

Now somebody scream! (they have to say that at every show too, hope they don't forget)

i see what the problem is.
your defintion of hip hop has been given to you by mtv.
it is so obvious. you keep mentioning "bling bling", etc.
let me tell you this:

hip hop and rap are 2 very different things. what you see on mtv is mostly rap. like i tried to explain to you hip hop is a culture. if you took the time to learn about the origins of hip hop culture you would know that and you would not be making jokes about "kangols and gold teeth".

the "rap" that mtv feeds you with all of the images of half naked girls and guys in SUV's with 20 inch rims and the moet poppin, etc. is not hip hop i am talking about.
that is where the disconnect is with you i think.

i dont know how much hip hop you have listened to/purchased/researched, but it cant be much.

these kids dont know a thing about the business and that is why puffy was getting in their asses about it in that episode.

i am sucked up in hip hop and what it is supposed to be because hip hop changed my life as a kid. i respect it and it makes me sick to see what is going in hip hop today. and yes puffy does have a lot to do with it because he is the one who started all of the "bling bling" crap in the first place. but we all know that and we all live with that right?

the hip hip you think you know and the hip hop that i know are two very differnt things. i dont want to go back and forth with you because were are in two different places on this.

the bottom line is you hate puffy. i used to hate puffy, but i respect him as a business man and as an ambassador for hip hop. what you see puffy doing in those videos is just to sell records. the point i am trying to make to you is hate puffy, but respect him as well.

your arguments make no sense to me. why on earth are you trying to compare country music to hip hop culture? why?

since you want to "speak my language" (which is pretty lame to say) i will define "front" for you since that word seems to be so foreign to you. (which is odd since you had the audacity to start a thread on puffy and then tried to speak on hip hop)

front: what you did by starting this thread.
front: when you claim to hate someone, but you
a) watch their tv show
b) buy their records (admit it)
c) watch their videos (admit it)
d) dance to their music in clubs
front: when you start talking about shit you know nothing
about and then dont even know what the word front
means.

now if i had not stumbled upon this thread yesterday i am sure all of the posts would have been to your liking, but i have to defend puffy on some level.

I also don't hate people, some just make me barf

Don't tell me what you think i know about. I was listening to hip hop before MTV was on the air.

Hope you enjoy my autographed 12", signed by the master himself, Grandmaster Flash. I don't know if you even know who he is??? confuse

I am through arguing about Sean Combs' importance in life, as a business man or teacher or hip hop wanna be. I am glad that hip hop of old saved your life as a child and you cherish and respect it as an art form. I am very sorry that you do not understand my views or logic or references and can not get past your own nose.

wow!

an autographed copy of "sign of the times"?

this is supposed to impress me or something? come on man.

now you want to try and insult me and ask me have i heard of flash? get real.

what are you trying to prove? that you purchased a copy of a 12 inch that bears the same name as a hit by prince? and then flash signed it. (years later i'm sure)

it is pretty sad that you have actually taken the time to scan that 12 inch in the first place. i guess i should go home and start scanning in every autographed 12 inch or album i own to try and prove/impress someone i dont even know right?

what i am supposed to do now? give you an honorary hip hop day pass?

give me a break.

i don't know why you are taking everything so personal. calm down. i do understand your views. trust me i do.

if you wanna puke so bad go do it and stop talking about it. better yet take a laxative because you are definitely full of BS.

Now go and watch your Diddy and and get yo hip hip Diddy lesson for today so you can know what to dj at your next party. If you are up his ass so much, why even bother jackin this thread.

Go start a I love thread, I won't come near it.

i thought you were done?
of course you're not. you are the type of person that always has to have the last word right? a big shot who is never wrong right? you cant lose right?

front on flash? what the hell are you talking about?
i probably have every damn record flash has ever put out.
furthermore i thought you did not know what front meant?
oh i forgot i defined it for you. at least you paid attention to something i said.

as far as what i dj at parties you let me worry about that.
you just keep scanning in your little records that you think are so important/impressive.(i'm sure you don't even own a turntable either) you'll have to do a lot better than that to impress me. why don't you scan in some of the records you own that puffy produced? dont tell me you dont have any. please dont tell me that you are down with "hip hop" and dont have any records produced by puff. please stop fronting. it's ok.

now i am up puffy's ass? i tell you i respect puffy as a business man and for his work ethic and that makes me up his ass?

i jacked this thread because i have the right to. i gave my opinion about puffy and you cant handle that.

you start all of these meaningless threads with your little rants and then you expect everyone to agree with you? stop clogging up the website with your rants.

what nerve.
you want to flame puffy, but like i said earlier...you watch his show to the point where you know the characters by name and then you get mad when you get called out about it. stop fronting and stop hating.

now i am done. but of course you'll have to respond again.
so if you do (which you will), i'll be the bigger person and walk away.
