Anyone notice how Missy Elliott...

Seems to use the reversing technique and Bob George voice in a lot of her recent productions much like Prince did back in the day? hmmm I read an interview once where Timbaland said Prince was his favorite producer of all time, so I wonder if Missy feels the same?

Some examples include "Xtasy," "Slap, Slap, Slap," "Work It," "Pussycat" (Bob George voice rapping), Monica's "So Gone" Remix and "Knock Knock (she also used her verion of the "Bob George voice" on the intro of this song), Tweet's "Drunk," (although she didn't produce it, but I'm sure she probably suggested it), Beyonce's "Signs"

Just an observation.

OK, I've been a Prince fan since the early 80's, but I'm clueless about his history of reversing.

Aside from the part at the end of Darling Nikki that everyone at first thought was Satanic, when did Prince use the reversing technique??

thanx

Yeah but she may have lifted "Good gawd" from the same place Prince did...James Brown.
Prince may be the purple Yoda, but Wendy & Lisa and Eric Leeds also sit on the Jedi Council.

C'mon now UptownDeb! I know you know Prince's pseudonym "Bob George"!!! lol It's the same voice he used on the same track from The Black Album. Basically instead of using the sped up Camille voice, he slowed it down (screwed it).

In the movie Purple Rain, the love scene w/ Apollonia has "God" instrumental playing with a girl crying backwards, the infamous B-side of "America", "Girl" has Wendy saying the exact same words Prince is singing backwards (in the background), "Starfish and Coffee" has drums and a guitar backwards towards the end of it, Sheila E.'s "Shortberry Strawcake" has Prince singing along w/ his guitar a backwards message (I'm still trying to figure it out). The list goes on and on...

Prince probably picked the backwards from the Beatles also. George Clinton did it with Parliament also. But Since it is obvious that Timbaland and Missy are Prince fanatics, they do sum Princey things and even Missy goes to giv him credit on "Pussycats", not 2 mention another Princey beat 2 it.

No..she didn't. Just because she's a protege doesn't mean that she produces every single track on there. In fact, Missy only wrote three songs on there (with Timbaland). All the other songs were written and produced by Nisan Stewart, Craig Brockman, and Tweet.

Missy using a pseudonym??? rolleyes WTF??!!! That's the funniest thing I've ever heard!!! lol Clearly, you don't have Tweet's album or never heard it because Missy has said in numerous interviews that she was a amazed at how many songs Tweet already had written before she was signed.
