Richard Marx does it again.......

Im not sure how many know this, but once again Richard Marx is behind a top selling single for an artist. Now we all know Richard had a dozen or so Hits in the Late 80's and Early 90's. But since then he has sent his time behind the scenes giving others the hits. Not that he has stopped recording himself, he had a very underrated and ignored CD in 2000 called DAYS IN AVALON, but Richard has given hits to alot of country artists such as Chely Wright, SheDaisy, Kenny Rogers, Alan Jackson, Vince Gill, and of course he gave NSYNC their biggest worldwide hit THIS I PROMISE YOU although Richard does it a million times better than Justin Timberlake because Richard doesnt need the studio to enhance his vocal ability and to layer it. He has worked with Lionel Richie and Manilow on their next cds and wrote DANCE WITH MY FATHER for LUTHER VANDROSS and obviously that has turned out to be Luthers biggest hit, obviously, but had nothing happend to LUTHER it still is one of Luthers best in a long time, I mean even ID RATHER was a huge hit.

I love Richard Marx!!! "Endless SUmmer Nights" is my favorite song!! I've actually got his greatest hits in my Cd case with me now --hmm.. maybe i'll put it on...he's married to Cynthia RHodes (Flashdance, Staying Alive, DIrty Dancing and was also a mid-80s replacement to the group "Animotion" with the hit song "Room to Move" -- she was not in Animotion when they had success with the hit "Obsession." Just a little trivia for you).

I will give Marx his props BUUUT,

'This I Promise You' was NOT Nsync's biggest worldwide hit (or their best, for that matter)

And 'Dance with my Father' is not even CLOSE to being Luther's biggest hit. There are way too many to choose from, but 'Here and Now' won a grammy, hit #1 and is played at countless weddings. Let's see if DWMF can do that.

In between the late 80's early 90's mullet Richard Marx and the NSYNC Richard Marx, he was teaching a songwriting class. A friend of a friend attended the class and Richard Marx was one of the guest teachers. Funny!

Also- have you ever heard of the group Jellyfish? their singer Andy Sturmer and Richard Marx have a similar singing voice at times. Check out Jellyfish- Bellybutton...VERY good CD!!!

Yeah, it isn't even close! I wouldn't even argue that its one of his biggest hits (or best) in a while. I think "Take You Out" was a better song. "Take You Out" peaked at 26 on the Billboard Hot 100 and number 7 on the R&B charts. I don't think that "Dance With My Father" will do that well, considering it is a ballad and most "new" R&B stations won't play it and "hip" pop stations are afraid of those kind of ballads. It has been gettting played on a lot of AC, slow R&B and even the "jazz" station here in Detriot.

And Marx co wrote it with Luther! Still, Marx does have a away with a pop song and isn't that embrassing (still haven't bought any of his stuff though).

Well true but AC is what is driving the Airplay and sales for him now, especially with the last CD with ID RATHER on it. As fo Marx, he gets a nice check for those album sales and airplay everytime thetrack gets played, as he did for NSYNC. Marx does have a way with a good love lyric and knows the craft of the ballad. He even taught classes for it years back on just how to write. His version of the This Is I promise you, is amazing though, I dont like or listen to NSYNC but Marx's vocals are light years above Timberlakes and he doesnt use the studio to layer his vocals either.
