Crowded House-Don't Dream Its' Over.....Pop Masterwork

This is simply one beautiful record and one of the best pop songs of the 80's. The song from Neil Finn And Co. just grabs you and hooks you from the very beginning. Once you hear that great guitar riff at the beginning, you're totally entrenched by the song. Love how the track starts out...

"There's freedom within...there's freedom without"

You can hear the influence of Paul McCartney And John Lennon on this track to the great extent.Great lyrical stuff going on.

And how can one resist the chorus of the song?

Definitely! Finn's voice is something pretty amazing and the music is timeless--sounds just as good today as it did back then.

This IS an awesome song. I love it. It never sounds old to me. There is a simplicity to it that is timeless, and the lyrics are brilliant.

I ecourage all of you to run out & get "7 World's Collide" on DVD. It's a document of Neil's 5 day stand in New Zealand
with guest musicicans like Johnny Marr, Lisa Germano, Eddie Vedder, & members of Radiohead as well as his brother Timm Finn. It's a classic and he runs through many Crowded House favorites like Four Seasons In One Day, Don't Dream..& even runs through The Smiths classic w/ Marr "There is a light that never goes out". His new album is fantastic w/ lisa & wendy in tow, check em' out.
