, i just cannot stand divas
"There's only one Whitney", and aren't we all grateful for that. I'm not a fan or either Mariah or Celine (dig their early work though) but those coments are little much. Sure, Mariah does borrow from Whitney's style, but it's not like Whitney's so damn original. And for Celine, I'll plead the 5th on that one And anyway, isn't this comming from the same woman who named Bobby Brown "The King of R&B"? I, personally, wouldn't take any of her comments to heart. ~KiKi

Harlepolis said: I didn't buy "Thats my sista girl, my lamp-chop" 98-era anyway, both ladies got no love 4 eachother and its very obevious as the afternoon sun no matta how hard they try 2 hide it. lol, i didn't buy that either. Infact, I was waiting for a catfight to heppen between them. Mariah also used to talk a lot of trash back in the day, but thankfully she learned to shut her mouth. (unlike another diva...) And that song they did toghether, "when you believe", was, IMHO, utter TRASH. Am I the only who can not stand 'divas', I swear, as soon as someone calls themselves that, they loose some major points with me. ~KiKi

I actualy LOVE this term alot but its very mis-represented and very mis-used which makes the backlash against it very common. Back in the day it took Aretha 10 years to actualy earn and it took Tina Turner to split from her husband and yet struggle till she earned it when she released "Private Dancer", hell she even can't get the term str8 from people considering that they're still caught up in the "Tina Is A Whore" image. Nowadays? LOL I don't even need to mention all the young ladies who get the term without the hard struggle, the blood and the sweat they should spend so they could earn it. IMO The modern day ladies who deserve it are: 1.Mary J Blige-Cuz she was misunderstood and now she getting all the love & respect. It took her 10 years to earn that(just like Aretha). 2.Lauryn Hill-Cuz she's trying to prove a point esp when she released that Unplugged. 3.Alanis M.-She's a diva on her way. 4.Erykah Badu-Same as L-Boogie Thats all I could think of right now.

O.K., I won't give my opinions on any of these women's singing but I will say that you NEVER see Celine talking this kind of mess about other people in the press. I get SOO tired of the Whitney attitude. . .no class.
