Whitney houston attacks Mariah and Celine

"Whitney Houston finally speaks her mind in a new issue of Oprah's 'O' magazine that will be hitting the newsstands early August. Whitney speaks on her strange relationship with Bobby Brown and her archrivals Celine Dion and Mariah Carey. Whitney states, "Mariah is an ok artist, but she lacks originality and she tries too hard and Celine is just Celine, very instrumental and boring; she's just adding light to her music, both are excellent at their craft but there can only be one Whitney." When asked how she feels about her music not selling very well she added, "That part of this business really doesn’t concern me. Right now I'm at 5 million world wide. Some artist don't see that in a 10 year career span. I'm just lucky to have sold as much as I've sold in the past, so people shouldn't say I'm not selling, at least not while this whole music swapping over the internet is happening.""

If she did she has nerve to lash at Mariah and call her boring, Mraih is by far more superior than Whitney
Mariah has written and produced everyone of her albums and , Whitney can hardly put 2 words together phonetically.
Let alon write 15 number 1's
Cool? Whitney has always been uncool and un sexy
She's sweaty, boney, bow legged crack pot
I think Whitney wig is on to tight, it's cutting oxygen to her head

Whitney makes a good point. Her latest CD may not have sold like 'The Bodyguard',but 5 million copies worldwide is nothing to sneeze at.When you consider various factors (Internet file-sharing,the fact that she has been around for almost 20 years, the dominance of rap and young artists on the charts, etc),five million is not bad.Madonna's latest CD has sold about 5 million worldwide, too.

But shame on Whitney for attacking Mariah like that! I do,however, agree with her comments on Celine Dion smile

Whitney is indeed a sad case. She has this great voice, but chooses to live her life with her head in the clouds. IMO Mariah is a joke and Celine is boring. Whitney once had style, but she's pissed all that away on drugs and her loser husband. I believe she will come around again at some point and wow us with her voice and style, but in the meantime she's sinking fast.

Old news, Whitney can't stand MC's guts since 4ever and its obevious. I remember her quote in Rolling Stones(92) "They say Mariah sound like me, they don't walk around saying I sound like her!" and in 96 when she said "It was me and babyface b4 everybody, it was b4 Madonna, it was b4 Celine and it was b4 MISS MARIAH" lol lol

I didn't buy "Thats my sista girl, my lamp-chop" 98-era anyway, both ladies got no love 4 eachother and its very obevious as the afternoon sun no matta how hard they try 2 hide it.

Hell if I care anyway,,,

I have feeling now that it is either a fake article, or crack makes u dillusional
because www.classicwhiteney.com
have reported that world sales of "just whitney" is at 1 million
here is what they say is her album sales total, thought you might care or probably not
note, "waiting to exchale" wasn't her album but whatever funds her habit, crackheads need to smoke

Whitney Houston 22,000,000
Whitney 19,000,000
I'm Your Baby Tonight 10,000,000
The Bodyguard 34,000,000
Waiting To Exhale 10,000,000
The Preacher's Wife 5,000,000
My Love Is Your Love 10,000,000

I think Whitney shows a concern for sales...only.

Also, let Mariah be. At least she ain't no J-Blo.

And Whitney, c'mon, she herself is not very original.

Celine, well, yes, she sucks.

But it's easy right now for these musicians and artists to blame online trading/sharing.

As for giving Whitney credit, I do think she's one of the most amazing voices ever. That one song, I WIll Always Love you is freakin' amazing. Just that her attitude and crackiness take away from it all. It's turning off people...big time!

She probably should be concerned with herself than others or other problems in the industry.

Mariah has certainly filled-out better than Whitney has but as a young woman, before the drugs took their toll, Whitney was better looking than Mariah. Her voice was better too-- stronger. Must've been the church singin'.
Calling Mariah a songwriter and producer isn't very appropriate particularly when she brings in producers just like Whitney does. Even if she does write those lyrics, they're nothing to brag about.
Whitney is jealous as are most people when somebody with less or equal talent comes along after them and finds more success doing what they do/did. Regardless, both ladies have proven the images their record companies created for them to be stifling and impossible to live up to. We can't judge them on that

ouch!! whitney is hardcore, but she can do it because she is the best female singer.. I used to love mariah when i was little but she's not been using her voice like she should. its so feathery light and annoying now on top of that always managing to look like she just got selling funnel cakes at the carnival.

whitney, whitney, whitney...

love her talent, but why does she get so darned snippety in her interviews?

and to go so far as to call one of her colleauges boring. now after hearing that last little ballad of hers on vh-1 divas...i was just thinking "damn, whitney...can we get beyond the sappy ballad formula because you are BORING me, girl!!!" i mean whitney really DID bore me with that song, y'all! how ironic that she would say something like that about another singer, considering she herself didn't really bring down the house that night in vegas.

and anybody who has ever worked in the music business will
tell you straight up that for an artist of whitney's caliber, you need to sell about 4 million units domestically for your record to be considered "successful".nowadays if you sell only 3 milllion "the suits" at the label start getting nervous as hell. although that sounds kinda ridiculous to those of us who could care less about an artist's sales figures (cause we love the MUSIC!!!)- from a business standpoint her little piddley few million combined domestic and international sales of the latest record aren't much to write home about. but then i guess her addressing that is her way of spin control to
show, you know, that 'things are okay'...

all i know is that i wish she was back in top form like when she did that HBO show in washington; remember that? i LOVED her during that era. after seeing so many years of horrible whitney shows, missed notes and crazy public behavior (my cousin & i saw her cussing her husband out once in a restaurant parking lot in n. miami beach in broad daylight, looking very un-diva. we were like, um, they need to take that HOME behind closed doors), when she did that washington show, i felt like i was watching somebody rise from the damn dead- that performance will always be legendary in my mind. kinda like when judy garland was damn near dying and she did that legendary concert in '69 and brought the house DOWN! that's what the "washington whitney, it's not alright but it's okay and i'm gonna sing my but off anyway" era reminded me of...LOVED THAT.

Whitneys an ass bored
(cue the music of "When You Believe"...a collabo by WHITNEY and MARIAH)
Okay Whitney, how can you describe originality when its clear that you originally didnt feel this way bout Mariah when things were looking up for you? rolleyes
And Thank God that theres only one Whitney, we dont need a whole buncha skinny, cracked-out, "back-in-my-day" Divas running around. no no no! Your a disappointment and it hurt at first Whitney but now I think you need to lay down and let the other "only be one" singers take over. Its bound to happen anyway.

I like Whitney better than Mariah but yeah that comment was werid considering Mariah has been writting and producing for years and ever so often Whitney will dabble in it. I wish Whitney would write a damn album. I'd love that. You know she has some stories too!

"Right now I'm at 5 million world wide."

Whitney, are you talking about the sales for "Just Whitney"? I know that's a damn lie but I wish it were true. She might mean, might, that it SHIPPED that many copies and even that sounds high (much like her)!

Didn't Whitney sing a duet a few years ago with Mariah called "When you Believe?" They were like best friends at the time. THat's kind of rude to go talk that shit about her now. Not that I mind Mariah-bashing but Whitney is no songwriter or producer and any singer/songwrite/producer (like Mariah) gets kudos with me. THought after 1997's "Butterfly" it was apparent Mariah's originality was starting to "Melt Away."

i'm just glad whitney still got some sense. at least she's not talking about her legendary voice as being compared to chaka or aretha. and let's all just pray that diana ross reaches out and touches old whitney's hand and leads her to rehab.
