a little disappointed with the new blur cd i went to buy blur tickets today. i have no money at all but i was all prepared to buy this ticket. i also know radiohead are coming to the area and tickets go on sale this weekend. did i mention i'm broke? so i had to make a decision as to which show i'd attend. yeah, i know, its like choosing a favourite child. well, i've already heard the new radiohead and its f'n amazing! so, i take a listen to the new blur at the listening station in the wrecka stow. i got confused. was i listening to blur or gorillas? i just didn't know. where was the guitar? where was the rock? only a few songs had that blur signature. now, i'm not saying i don't like the cd. its pretty good. but it doesn't say blur to me. i know once i buy it i'll get used to it and love it like my own. but if i have to choose between a radiohead show and a blur show...knowing what both cds sound like...well, i'll see you in wisconsin!

That's tough, man. Blur or Radiohead? Something for me to ponder over tonight...
I'll get back to you on the outcome

hmm, if you have to chose one over the other, I think radiohead is a no-brains winner...
BUT, don't count Blur out, the new album is very subtle and grows quite nicely after a few listens... can't you go see both??? come on, you can do it...

It's not surprising the new Blur Cd sounds different w/o Coxon... "We've never been able to pull off a funk number"
"That's becuase we're soulless auttomatons"

It took a few listens to get into the new Blur CD, whereas the Radiohead album suckerpunched me and won't let go - there's something to be said for subtlety, however, so I'm not giving up on Think Tank quite yet...

Tracks 7 and 11 remind me of old skool Residents music for some reason - I'm digging this album more and more. I think "Crazy Beat" is a weak attempt at scoring an upbeat first single, but I still enjoy it as a part of the whole album. WE'VE GOT A FILE ON YOU!!!
