IT's TORTURRRRRRRRRRRE! Torture by the Jacksons
It was on a street so evil So bad that even hell disowned it Every single step was trouble For the fool who stumbled on it Eyes within the dark were watching I felt the sudden chill of danger Something told me keep on walking Told me I should not have come there Baby, 'cause you cut me like a knife Without your love in my life Alone I walk in the night 'Cause I just can't stop this feelin' It's torture It's torture It's torture She was up a stair to nowhere A room forever I'll remember She stared as though I should have known her Tell me what's your pain or pleasure Every little thing you find here Is simply for the thrill you're after Loneliness or hearts of fire I am here to serve all masters She said reality is a knife When there's no love in your life And merciful is the night When you just can't stop this feeling It's torture It's torture It's torture And I still can't find the meaning, no no no Of the face I keep on seeing Was she real or am I dreaming Did the sound of your name Turn a wheel, start the flame in me Baby, 'cause you cut me like a knife Without your love in my life Alone I walk in the night And I just can't stop this feelin' It's torture It's torture It's torture She said reality is a knife When there's no love in your life And merciful is the night When you just can't stop this feeling It's torture It's torture It's torture Let the rain come down...17 days....

Yeah, the video was kinda creepy. That was when the whole family decided to cash in on MJ's success. And it worked (to a certain extent). I remember having a Jacksons Victory watch as a cereal box prize. That's actually the first thing that came to mind when writing this. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

Wasn't there some controversy surrounding the video? Something about the creepy images and the Jackson's being Jevoha's Witnesses and all?

i think that was thriller Ha ha at Michael and Jermaine just not showing up. AWFUL video. Truly dreadful. I quite like the song. Kind of got forgotten amongst the Jackson media flooding that was going on in 1984.

I believe Jermaine wrote that song. NEW WAVE FOREVER: SLAVE TO THE WAVE FROM THE CRADLE TO THE GRAVE.

I just remember Tito tearing up the solo in the video - wonder if he even really played the solo? Does anyone know? The Last Otan Track: www.funkmusician.com/what.mp3

State of Shock was a much better song on that album.

Better than the 2 MJs together because Mick Jagger's voice is weak in comparison. I'd like to know if Michael and Freddie recorded it properly in a studio, because on the demo it sounds like only Freddie is properly belting it out. MJ is sort of half heartedly crooning along to it.

FYI -
Torture Music written, composed and arranged by Jackie Jackson Lyrics by Jackie Jackson and Kathy Wakefield Produced by Jackie Jackson Lead Vocals: Jermaine & Michael Jackson Background vocals: Jackie, Jermain, Marlon, Michael, Randy & Tito Jackson Ad libs: Jackie Jackson Musicians: credits list Randy as the only Jackson to actually play on this track, and that's keyboards, synthesizers, synth-horns and synth programming. (fyi - the lead guitar in this song was played by Jack Wargo.) (c) 1984 CBS, Inc. Hats off to Jackie on this one... although, I still dig Randy's One More Chance better than this one. |

Talking of The Jacksons (as if you guys ever aren't talking about them in some way or another).
If you have RealPlayer, a performance of Can You Feel It on the Triumph tour. I have to say, Randy can't sing for shit http://www.michaelvideos....deo/tri.rm

I remember this song! I also remember seeing the video and being pissed that Michael wasn't in it.He used the flimsy excuse that he didn't want to become "overexposed".Yeah,right.Anyway,I thought the 'Victory' album was kinda disapointing."State Of Shock" by Michael and Mick Jagger is an odd song, isn't it? Sometimes I like it,sometimes I can't stand it.Does that make any sense? LOL

It´s always enjoyable 2 see those Jacksons clips, & U´re right,Randy´s singing´s a bit weak on this 1 & once again I´m amazed of how such a great singer Michael really is./peace Manki

If you think of "Victory" as a Jackson's album, it kinda bites.
If you think of "Victory" as a compiliation album, it's not so bad.
