ONly broke losers think Prince overcharges in a world where U2, Modonna, Springsteen, Janet, and the Stones got over $300 for the best seats on their last tours.

Hey, don't assume those who are broke are losers. rich losers could also assume Prince overcharges. But he doesn't, especially considering the venues he played at.

And in fairness, you get more than just a show for the 2250, you also get 3 nights accom at a 4 star hotel in France, an autographed tour book, receptions and party acess, and some other stuff.

Still, damn expensive though.

Only losers would post that Bruce charges over $300 when his top ticket was $76.

I think anyone who charges 125.00 for tickets is just greedy. plain and simple. prince, madonna, bruce, any of them. maybe, just maybe, i can understand if their is a huge cost of production involved (like madonna or U2) but i still think its too much. Paul McCartney charged 300.00 just for peeps to watch him play guitar. Rolling Stones charged $300-$500 to see a bunch of old men rushing through songs they can no longer remember. Prince is no better. His shows are great, but for being such stripped down shows, why did he feel the need to charge 125.00 (plus, you kind of needed to have already spent 100.00 on fees for the music club. Don't get me wrong, if you want to pay the price to see peeps than its all good. but it does seem like a rip off for these already rich people to be so greedy.

and for the record, the janet tour (all for you) was 80.00 for the MOST expensive tickets. that is not bad, considering you could go down to 40.00 if you needed cheaper seats.

Well, it's all about what the market will bear. If people will shell out 3 bills to see these superstars then so be it.

The weird thing is that this seems 2 b happening only in the US and 2 lesser extent in the UK. I'm sure artists would be ripped 2 shreds by the media, in most European countries, if they charged that much money 4 a ticket. Most Arena shows in the US seem 2 b all seated as well. Am I correct? In most Euro venues u either pay 4 a standing place (floor, in front of the stage) or a seat in category 1 to 3.

In Belgium the most expensive Bowie ticket is like 41 eUROS.
That's a category 1 seat.

the funny thing is america is in such a depression right now and concert/record sales are at lows. to me, the solution seems to be (in the petty case of concert tickets) lower the costs of shows and cds. hmmm, why aren't i in charge of anything? smile

I figured that! The stones, I heard were 300.00 per seat IF u wanted 2 be "up close, & personal...in Chicago". Now, we know the stones arent worth THAT. They should be playing casino's & the likes of what "the time" plays at, IMO. Billy Joel, Madonna, MJ, is "up there" in $$$ too. Y'all knew Bowie would collect!!!Yes, Prince tics are a steal compared to...and worth it all, many times over. Prince is NOT over charging 4 all his talent. I bet the SAME ppl who diss what prince charges will pay Bowies price. Bowie doesnt tour all that much though, so ppl will peel it out, as they did 4 Barbra Streisand & others who tour infrequently.
May the BELLS ring 4 U even when ur not in love. hug kisses

Madonna buys out the front rows at her concerts and sends the staff out in the crowd to find diehard fans and fun people to fill up the front rows. 4 of my friends went to see the Drowned World tour, and bought 20-something dollar nosebleed seats. They all were dressed really wacky, and a staff member stopped them in line and handed them front row passes explaining the whole deal.

u2 was not $300 for best seats, where did you come up with these prices?

and if you add up the cost of last years club plus the cost of the tickets, you would pay no less than $225 for only one ticket in preferred seating on the ONA tour last year.

I paid 27 bucks for the foofighters last month, and was literally 10-15 feet from the stage. The membership to their club and the ticket presale were both free, if you want to compare what artists are doing these days...

3 nights hotel accommodations at a 4-star hotel property in Paris, France
V.I.P seating (reserved) or Standing General Admission floor with V.I.P. priority entrance* for October 20 and 21 shows at Palais Omnisports
Coach transportation to and from both shows
Welcome reception
Closing party on last night of travel package
Exclusive souvenir t-shirt
Autographed tourbook

Has anyone bothered to tally up what the bolded items would cost on their own. This is certainly more than just a front row seat at a concert.
