Does anyone else here like Richard Ashcroft/The Verve? I was thumbing through a few CD's I haven't listened to in a long while and I ran across the Verve's Urban Hymns and Ashcroft's solo project Alone With Everybody and upon listening to both I was reminded of how talented a singer/songwriter Ashcroft is. I had forgotten about his subdued yet effective ballads, best personified on Hymns'Sonnet and The Drugs Don't Work. I was just curious if anyone else shared an appreciation for Ashcroft's abilities. Sadly most people only recognize the Verve for Bittersweet Symphony.

I totally agree, Urban Hymns is one of the best albums from the nineties and his solo debut was absolutely brilliant as well. You should catch his latest album 'Human Condition' its more or less the same kind of music but better production on this one. Grandma's hands clapped in church on Sunday morning, Grandma's hands played the tamborine so well.
