eels - 'Shootenanny'

Another brilliant album by this fine band around Mr. E. Any fans here?
On tour in Europe as we speak, I'm seeing them on Friday 6/27 at the Paradiso in Amsterdam.

it is always the same...nobody likes the music that I like...I guess that's the reason why I'm going to the concert alone...'Love of the Loveless'

Ah...my lovely viennese friend, with her razorblade-tongue whose music-interest does not go any further than good old Prince and lame-ass, pretentious mofo TTD (or is it Sananda?).

Anyway, thank you for lousy contribution, don't fucking return here!

It's so nice to be loved here, but you know what even with people like you around I prefer this place here to the NPGMC, at least here anyone can tell their honest opinion, even if it's as fucked up as yours evillol evillol evillol lol lol lol
BTW, you don't know anything about my music interest (except that I love Sananda's / TTD's music) as I don't mention every musician I like in my profile

you are so right...hrmph can we now rewturn to the brilliant music of eels, with the genius singer/songwriter Mr. E?
Maybe, before criticizing someone's music-taste, you should actually listen to that music first... I know that I have listened to TTD and I just can not stand (let's not talk about his attitude...).
Do me a favor, go to www.eelstheband.com and take a listen, then come back and tell me about it. Tell me what you liked and what you didn't like! I'm challenging you. E is one of the most brilliant songwriters of our time!

PS: although I am a member, I hardly ever go to the NPGMC, I am only a member because I want to have access to P's music...

I have not critisized your musical taste (besides the fact that you don't see Sananda / TTD as the incredible gifted artist that he is IMHO lol), especially not the Eels, it was just so funny reading your post and thinking "Oh, what a déja vu". You were the one that was critisizing mine lol .I think I saw a concert of them on television some time ago and from what I remember I did like it.
And did I mention that I wish that Prince was just half (or maybe just 5% is that too much too demand) as nice and modest as a person as Sananda is (speaking about TTD's attitude)lol I have met both of them in person several times, so I know what I am talking about

I've met P once, I shook his hand and he said something to me, I was intoxicated (not by him, for the record!), so I don't really remember. I've seen many TTD interviewsa nd I can not help but not liking his personality. Now there is much music I like without having to like the artist, so that is not it. He's just crap!

Now Mr. E from Eels is a special little fellow. Throughout his life, writing songs has been therapy. This guy (like many others) has seen a lot of personal misery in his life. The amazing thing is that he manages to write about his personal experiences, yet it appeals to many people. I've met Mr. E two times, he is a very likable, yet tragic person. Not as in 'Cobain-tragic', E is too stable for that. What amazes me even more about E (and I actually very much enjoy that) is his ability to include wit in his lyrics. No matter how sad the content of an Eels record might be, there are always moment that make you laugh out loud.
I am glad that there are still artists (E is not the only one, of course) who are not afraid to include personal emotion in their music without sounding pathetic. Prince used to do that too...used to...
