The Ataris *Boys Of Summer* i always loved the original by Don Henley...
i was after punk covers & someoen in a chat room suggested this to me a few week sago. they sent it 2 me & it is by far THE GREATEST COVER I HAVE EVER HEARD! it kills me...the lyrics have special meaning 2 me... but i love how they have stayed true 2 th eoriginal but given it that rock kicker. it deserves 2 do well,but i hope it doesnt so it doesnt become a 'hit' on me. then everyone will get sick of it instead of saying "damn that cover rocks!'

I am so freaking tired of these whiney punk/emo bands. I used to dig the cover songs but those suck the worst now.
hmmm... lets take a song from when we were a kid, make it punk, and make a million! All of these bands suck. The Ataris, Good Charlette, New Found Glory... etc. They all sound the same. They all go cry somewhere after a show. And they all suck. "I'm here to chew bubblegum and kick ass, and I'm all out of bubblegum"

The Ataris r a great rock band.
i know alot of punk/rock/grunge covers suck bigtime, (only a few r killer i think like Throwdown 'baby got back',Social Distortion 'pretty in pink',Phantom Planet 'somebody's baby',NFG 'heaven',Student Rick 'heaven is a place on earth'..... others r just peppy & fun 2 get stupid to) but this is one i dont even see as 'punk'. i just see it as a great modern rock version of an amazing song. the song,(this version in particular) makes me smile,at the same time almost cry just cos of the emotion that is still in it & how true it is to me. u have your opinion & thats shweet... but i love this 2 death! out on the road 2day i saw a prince.org sticker on a cadillac [This message was edited Tue Jun 24 7:22:05 PDT 2003 by Joshy] www.riotcitywrestling.com
